Nope. These have been in the works for a year and were in the HO22 catalog that was sent out in the beginning of the year. Just happened to coincide with his recent pro announcement.

I don’t for the life of me understand why Cons is so slow in cranking out Fastbreaks.    I don’t need a Nike level 2 colorways each month, but when was the last new model they had?    It seems very popular with riders and customers

Yes and especially since it's not at all similar to any other cons models it's means people who want fastbreaks are definatly going to buy something from another company. Not going to be like oh I can't get fastbreaks I'll just get some chuck taylors

For someone who struggles to find a good fitting shoe I disagree. The cupsole and this new vulc model have been very good to me. Tasteful design too.

Yeah this confused and bummed me out when I saw them in the catalog. The original Pro Leather is basically a perfect skate shoe with a huge history in skate videos and with cupsoles being more popular than they've been in a long time, I just don't see the reasoning behind making a budget vulc version. Just give me these please:



They do have the cupsole Pro Leathers out right now but I bought a pair of the all white leather with black logo online because I couldn't order them through the shop and the leather is so stiff and the sole is hard as a rock. Definitely not how the OGs were because I used to skate them all the time and still have an old beat up pair sitting around from when they did them in the skate line 8 years ago or whenever. I see people skating the most recent versions of the Pro Leather and have no fucking idea how they're doing that. One of the only shoes I've had in a long time where I couldn't even break them in enough to be wearable.

i also own a pair of regular high top pro leathers and the leather is soft as fuck, which i think means that they probably won’t last long. i skated in them once, did some little tricks and they work but i also bought them used so that might be why they feel better than your pair (although the leather is soft either way, i saw the same pair in a sneaker store and it felt the same). i wish they made a skate version of the ones you posted, they look great

this is the colorway i have btw, there’s another colorway out that’s identical but with a navy logo on the side and it’s from some italy pack so that might be the reason why the leather feels different. could be worth trying out but i know you don’t like off-whites

Converse is so disappointing. Feels like they barely come out with new models and still only release a few colors of the staple models. I think they cheaped out on the all star heel patch now too and it's just some glued on label with faux stitching. It's crazy that converse basically wants to survive off 3 shoes; chucks, one star, louie(for now); with a few other short lived models here and there. I want to see at least a return of some older shoes like the star player, sea star, weapons, fast breaks etc.

The original Chuck Taylor skates with the padded tongue were amazing. Best vulc shoes I have ever had by a mile.

The original Chuck Taylor skates with the padded tongue were amazing. Best vulc shoes I have ever had by a mile.

I second this. I had multiple pairs of these, specifically the black and gold stood out. The memory foam in tongue and collar was really dense and made for a really snug shoe with great board control.

Even the boat shoe looked sick. Raymond Molinar made that shoe look so good.

Crazy the only dude still on CONS in that squad is Baca. Everyone else ate their own balls or poop or whatever.
