Y'all are tripping over that Alexis shoe. I for one think it looks really good and I'd get a pair. With how popular Fastbreaks are and this style of shoe in general, I could see it doing really well too.

That opus model is nearly identical to the eS Caspian, with just a little notch at the rear of the toe cap, and which you can pretty regularly find for <$50

Yeah.   The only thing I don’t like about it is the potential sidelining of the fast break because of that

don't think these will replace fastbreaks at all unless cons follows a strict "only one cupsole at a time" policy. the shoes are different enough, one is a mid while the other is a low cut. especially since fastbreaks are just now seeming to pick up steam. cons availability tho is bullshit and imo they fumbled the bag in the last few years quite a bit. after the one star i think they overdid it a bit with that. now i only see skatechucks and maybe a louie colorway. fastbreaks drop quite seldom still and i still don't get how they halfassedly released a couple weapon colorways a bunch of years back so clandestinely that nearly no one noticed and then discontinued them fairly quickly again. i blame cons/nike forcing endless colorways of mildly different one star versions on shops for the demise of the more interesting shoes they could have made. ffs just bring back the weapons or redo the charles barkley larry birdall star dream team model to a skateshoe, that would be fucking sick.

EDIT: i'm brainfogged af today lol hence several edits. since j soy mentioned the bird model, i don't see a big resemblence to the alexis shoes, but the bird model definitely already has a nice ollie pad. i personally think the b-ball shoe resurgence is pretty dope. i actually skate very old regular hi dunks from my teenage closet rn, they skate pretty nicely.

Those two shoes are in no way nearly identical except for both being white.

I am quite curious to know who is behind the brand.  They don't look bad at all but the market is already too saturated.

Something I've noticed over the last many years is shoes come with laces that go from outside to in. It didn't used to be this way, or at least I think it didn't used to be this way because I don't recall having to completely unlace my shoes and then reface them. Not all manufacturers do this, but it's way more prevalent now than ever. Odd complaint on my part, but in reality lacing from outside to inside is garbage.

yeah that's a good example.

"Boutique style" as pictured above is standard for advertising as it makes the shoe look nicer in pictures but athletic style is generally standard for running and most sports as it keeps the foot secure in the shoe better. There's several ways to lace shoes depending on how they fit your foot. I like to use the "one area too tight" tech for high tops especially. https://cdn.runrepeat.com/storage/gallery/post/15685/shoelacing-infographic-12-techniques-11981515-720.jpg

agreed, i laced this way for a little while when i was younger because i thought it looked cooler. But for some reason when i lace outside to inside, my laces then to tighten up (especially near the bottom) after a while and i need to re adjust.

Thanks for this, my mom and her family has an issue with circulation and swelling in their feet. I think I developed it in the future, when I can’t skate as much, because my feet are always freezing.

Did some sleuthing today….looks like everyone’s favorite shoe impresario (Axion Steve) now sells pool toys (he’s off the gram, so I checked LinkedIn)

Hope no one is holding out hope on those reissues…

But this is good news for people with pools.

I’m genuinely curious as to why this way of lacing is rubbish in your opinion. I think it looks better and then keeps the tied laces a little bit more out of the way as they come from outside to in on top of the tongue. Other than that I can’t say that I’ve noticed any performance difference between lacing from out to in vs. in to out.

Re: Lacing

The main way is "Over/Under" lacing as far as I've seen from shoe brands, stores, and my personal lacing method of choice. Some like to do Under/Over, and then there's everything else that's covered in that image.

Over/Under looks most aesthetically pleasing to many people. How those black dunks were laced is Over/Under.

That David Tofighi who posted the box is a homie of mine, so I may hit him up and skate soon to see what the shoes are like! Get first hand Intel if I can

Based on the rubber outsole speckles on the vulc wrap, the Opus shoes look like they're made at the same factory as Lakai (also Huf), etc. Take that as you wish, better for worse, whether It's true or not.

I find it the opposite of what you say with keeping laces out of the way. I also feel its not a smooth to pull tight if I'm actually tightening my laces. But the real reason for me is it's just the opposite of what I'm used to. I have always done the going from the inside of the eyelet to the outside. Shoe companies have used the shown examples in this conversation for marketing approach, but I could swear they usually sent shoes in the box with the opposite lacing (my preferred lacing.) Either that or I'm just paying attention to it now and it stands out to me finally.

I usually keep the lacing like that but flip the laces I tie with (or in a half cab at the metal eyelet) to the reverse
