does anybody here have info about upcoming dc releases this year? I have a pair of lynx ogs I've been skating but the sole is almost worn completely through so I just wanna know if/when more lynx colorways are dropping this year

I need to know why the Rick 1 hasn’t been re-released.   It’s one of the most popular shoes of all time and it’s just perverse to keep it from everyone

I've heard that they want to release those and/or the 2s, it's just a matter of figuring it out with Rick and probably Carroll/Lakai

considering Carroll okayed the Vans, I gotta think it'll be okay, but from my understanding, it's just a nicety since Rick has no actual ownership of the design.  @rothdigga do you have any insight in how the whole "releasing an ex-rider's pro model" shakes out business-wise?

I don't have anything specific on that.  My best guess is, just from being around so long is that it varies from company to company.  I'm sure enough time had passed that Vans reached out to Mike and he was cool with it, but then another company might just make a shoe and not even reach out just because they don't care.  I'm trying to think of a good example of that but can't, but it's for sure happened in the past.  I remember working at Fallen and Cole had the RIPPER pro model, when he left for DC they put the same exact shoe out without his name on it and it became the CLIPPER hahaha.  Not exactly what you're talking about but still funny.

That’s a classic skate move, Reynolds has had it twice with his signature pant on kr3w being renamed the k slim and followed with a huge drop in quality and fit and then emerica did with the Reynolds low a few years ago which they still sell. But I feel like that’s more he just had in it his contract he always had a cupsole and a vulc on the market or emerica just would give him a basic vulc that would sell better with his name.

Early on when Emerica was doing their big G6 roll out, they were supposed to do a reissue / update of a Jamie Thomas pro model that I think people on here at least were excited about but it was silently cancelled and the rumor was JT found out and gave them a hard time over it so Emerica dropped it to avoid the headache.

It's not a full remake, but close enough that it could pass as a remake.

Similar to how the Evant is a close copy to the K3, but not the K3.

Also just wanted to say that Hours is Yours upgraded all of their insoles to "goddess insoles" and upgraded their previous models. Still no idea if they're any better or worse than Last Resort.

I'm not trying to be that armchair CEO guy, but they've just made such an insane amount of bad decisions over the last few years. Why they have limited G6 foam to Emerica and Michelin to etnies defies me. Why they need to get rid of the KSL G6, one of their best shoes as an entire company, makes little sense. Why they can't read the market properly makes little sense. If they wanted to build a strong foundation they should just reduce each entire company down to five shoes per. I would buy if they just left the shoes as they were, or actually had quality materials.

I love this shoe, I remember when I was a kid, and I had the original pair, that rubber toe piece was so good to have and I’m definitely gonna grab a pair or two, fuck, just good times come to mind when I think of this shoe

Thing is tho they're a remake of the heretic 2 which had a bunch of suede and leather versions not the original heretic (which from memory the only suede was an all black).

Looks like the same sole as the OG-1.

If it’s the same shit “cell” construction as the OG-1, then it ain’t a skate shoe. It’s Walmart.

If it’s supposed to be skated, just charge $120 and put G6 in it, or hell, ANY foam midsole. The collectors will still pay $120 for it.

I’m so disappointed in spending $95 for the OG-1 skate shop day. I basically just gave a donation to the shop, because I can’t skate them, and they’re too uncomfortable around the ankle to wear all day.

Oh well…. The Joslin is the best shoe ever, and I’ve got two back up pairs to skate later and chill in daily till then. I wish more skate shops carried the Joslins… I’m really curious why out of the three shops in my town, none of them carry Etnies. :/
