Thank you for jogging my memory. I did like that shoe. But that was before Etnies became...well...Etnies...if that makes any sense.

I just get flashes of the company chronology.  cause along with sal,  the super team becomes es' shoes. then somewhere along the line arto goes to the new etnies when it started to suck.  now es is done and etnies is a hella core mall brand that's trying to be early 2000's DC shoes.

Screws were amazing, same sole as the rap.

Never skated the Screw but that OG Etnies sole was the shit.

Original Screw


Those were very good. I think they were first cupsole mid shoes. I had couple of pairs because at that time (96-97) I had problems with my ankles.

Couple of years ago Etnies re-relased kind of updated model of Screw.




They went unnoticed. I still got couple of pairs of those new ones because I liked original shoe. They were less bulky and bit thinner than a original. They were decent.

When those models arrive at our local shop people went nuts, everyone bought a pair and the next weekend we all hated 'em.

The suede went flimsy and quickly lost the shape.

I had the Intercitys.

Yeah, they look really good. I am also anxious to see how the cup sole works with them. Habitat has come a long way with their footwear, I wish more people would give them a chance. The Guru HI is/was one of the most slept on shoes in a long time.

i have a pair of the yuma's which i got from a sample sale. i don't see myself skating in them because i'm not a cupsole guy, but they're nice winter shoes.
