I'm gonna be honest that Carrol looks like it is probably way better than the original. I thought the original was so fucking cool back in 2000/ 2001 but it did not skate that well. Plus I tore a kickflip hole in it in one day. Granted I was 11 years old and working on my kickflips like a crazed grom. That new one looks pretty functional. Someone do a review if they snag a pair.

Honestly the EXP pro slip-on is growing on me. I would never be able to rock the band-aid colorway though.

It makes way more sense to utilize a strap on the EXP pro since it is a cupsole.

Damn, I wish that Carroll was a little more runner-like. Could have done a little more with the outsole. Still pretty sharp looking. My reebok clubs are on their last days so those Carrolls and Manchester xlks have my eye.

Really bummed the swedish lakai dist. closed up 3 years ago. I got samples for cheap as soon as she was done with preorders, I skated nothing but lakai for 3-4 years.

I have enough shoes to skate but I’ve really wanted a pair of the Atlantics. They look like they’d skate great.

I can confirm that the atlantic’s are really solid. sole is super flexible right out the box, the only thing I don’t like is the side panel where the suede from the toe meets the mesh. but that’s always a blow out spot for me.

I will certainly be grabbing a pair of those carroll’s; I can only hope that they do this color way at some point.



I personally like the OG runner toe & sole contouring, but I understand why some companies aren’t ready to dive into 100% accurate reissues the way DC has. I wish more would, but you’re trying to sell to a really niche audience, and sadly I think most companies aren’t making room in their budgets for it.

I hear ya, and I largely agree, but that’s because I can actually afford that price point now that I’m in the adult work force lmao. I have the white/grey Kalis 1’s as well as the love park’s, and definitely felt like I got my money’s worth in quality for the price (~$115 each). I’d grab a pair of carroll 1’s in a heartbeat if they were to do an OG release, but I’m probably not speaking for a large audience. Here’s to hoping more core brands (I’m looking at you too, és) step up and make some true reissues. My wallet (and body) is ready.

The tongue and ankle on the carrol reissue are padded just fine. I guarantee you new version will skate better - as cool as the OG was.

I like the trend of technical skate shoes without gratuitous puff. As much as I can’t stand shoes with no padding.

can’t speak for the upper on that particular model but everstitch is tuff AF and that outsole is magical! Yup, most colors of the accel plus are also vegan, this one included 🌱

I have to disagree, I blew out my everstitch faster than regular canvas, toebox and collar just collapsed very fast after holes started to form. Outsole is best tho.

either way (I’m an old man and thus aren’t too hard on my shoes), we are both talking about the Swift right? That’s a shoe where the whole side panel is everstitch. On these accel plus they are only using that on the sections where there would be mesh anyway. The rest of the high wear areas are either synth or Kevlar so I’d be willing to bet they hold up better than the Swifts.

Yea Swifts. I was just a bit surprised to get a flip hole on my shoes, haven’t gotten much of those in past years anymore as I usually go thru soles much faster than upper😅 Those Accels look too good to pass🤤
