is it a 'pro' model?

I don’t think so.

Looks like sold out in most sizes on their site.

Do you guys still think of Vans as a "core" brand when they do collabs with fashion brands like this?
It's straight up cultural appropriation and Vans helps them do it!
Same with Barneys, Nintendo, etc..
The only one I'm mildly ok with was T&C and that's only cuz of 80's nostalgia.

You guys should be lashing back against this stuff. Not ogling over some limited edition "skate" shoes.
Seriously. Crappy Vans for $90?

I really agree with ally of what you said. Vans are not worth what they retail for (aves may be the exception) . In my opinion. But what you said about the collabs really makes sense to me in a way. Like I personally don’t want to support primitive and Santa Cruz ( I do like people on both teams)etc with their corny collabs with things outside of skateboarding. so why should I buy vans that do kinda the same kooky shit. I don’t want to support vans or the other big brands anymore. I also hate wearing shoes that Karen and Kyle wear at chic fil a.

that teal/black colorway really is nice though =]

'SK8-Hi Decon'?

That's an AVE Classic Hi.

Would be stoked if this was Vans dipping their toe and considering bringing that silhouette back though.

they've made this silhouette for a minute, mostly in the vans surf line.

Agree with being against the kooky collabs, but NOAH actually does a lot of progressive, community action type stuff.  They're not in the same boat as Barney's, Nintendo, Dragonball Z etc

Yeah, I think that you are right about it being an established silhouette, and that means this is a collab with Vans' lifestyle side of things, not skateboarding. It's like how Vans has done collabs on non-Pro-Classics build shoes for all kinds of companies. Or how Nike Sportswear side of things does all kinds of heinous collabs but the Nike SB line does more core or at least acceptable collabs.

On that note though, at least Noah is tangent to skateboarding and supports skaters with a team and some edits and such.

Seems like the kinda place a trust fund kid would shop at

noah has to be the most confusing company ever. if you look in their shop, it looks like preppy, trust fund kid clothes at trust fund kid prices. yet skaters are supposed to be somewhere in that target market? i know they cant actually be selling to us. $430 dollars is a lot of gear and beer money. its also their pricing on one of their sweaters. supposedly they use the "best materials" and "best practices" but who is really buying this shit?

their style direction is all over the place, from preppy to skate inspired to nautical to "christiancore." its like they have an identity crisis every season. ive literally seen only one person skating in their shit and it had to have been the cringiest hoodie ever with a unironic fucking bible verse on it retailing at $150. i know if i asked the kid about it, he would immediately talk to me like im out of the loop as if its supposedly a cool piece because of their supreme connection of some stupid shit. or maybe because its "rare" and printed on premium cotton. or maybe its cool because the sucker shelled out $150 for some regular ass hoodie with a graphic on it.

i had high hopes for this brand when it came out but its utter bullshit now. i wouldnt be caught dead paying for their clothes just to dress like an ivy league wannabe or an asian exchange student. sure its expensive and supposedly ethical in some way, but that doesnt make it good or worth the investment. they come off as tasteless and corny to me and wish they were not connected to skating at all. especially since skaters arent the people keeping them in business. id bet money that the people in their clips arent paying retail for their gear if they are paying at all. i understand the supreme connection and all, but it seems so forced

The pricing, a few cut and sew pieces aside, is on point with the rest of streetwear. $30-50 for tshirts is pretty standard now. I just recently paid $80 for a GX hoodie, its a standard blank independent hoodie with single color gx branding screened. So $150 for a noah hoodie that, doesn't appear to be run of the mill screen printing blank,  has 2 color screening and 2 color embroidery, plus custom tagging is on par.

All that being said I'm not buying their shit. Feels like J.Crew X Vetements

their pricing from a streetwear standpoint makes sense but the piece im referring to didnt have all of those details. it was probably not a regular blank but there was no cut and sew and was only one color screened. the graphic was literally dogshit. just a bible verse as a back graphic and nothing in the front other than a dime size embroidered "noah" logo that you can see if you put glasses on and squint. if i didnt know what it was, i would have thought he just came from a prayer group or christian summer camp. i can understand the pricing for some of their stuff, but id need an explanation on why that was sold for over $100 let alone $80.

i love my streetwear and have obviously overpaid for a ton of shit but i find no reason to give them my money. i feel like a really specific type of person is into their clothes and i also have a gut feeling theyre an insufferable asshole

I really like Noah’s stuff. My Ex-boss used to wear a lot and kinda got me into it. It’s like supreme for people that want the quality but doesnt like the hype and flashy shit. I don’t buy much from them because I can’t spend so much on clothes but they are for sure miles better than your regular skate brand. It’s like a premium skate brand which actually makes premium shit and doesn’t rely only on printing a cool graphic on blanks. They’re also pretty transparent about their business model which is cool:

I heard a rumour today that the new Rowan Pro shoe from Vans can also double as a bumper car at carnivals and fairs and amusement parks.
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

I just saw it on proskateboardingnews and damn that is one ugly shoe. Am I remembering wrong or did the one posted on here that got taken down look different? I thought the other one looked better.
