Does remastered count as new? I've seen the mids advertised as remastered too

What is it with Adidas and not posting the new models that are coming out?

Also what is "remastered" about these? Is that toe cap going on all of the Tyshawns now, instead of just the lows and a few of the mids?

Might just be me but the toe looks longer and the sidewalls look lower. Could just be the way they're photographed.

You have a sharp eye for things like this: Even with the side-by-side picture (thank you for that by the way) of original vs remastered, it took me a moment to see what all changed. The originals skated perfectly fine for me; maybe the remastered ones will lead to better deals on the originals.

Something looks off about the remastered, but can’t put my finger on it. They look a bit like an unfinished prototype but the original looks polished and good

I’m trying to figure out if they potatoed it more or less for the remaster, but a small part of me questions if potatoes are even a part of this at all.

The toe has that "toe bock" thing where it curls up, where the OG is more flat and closer to the ground. Maybe that's part of it.

Something with the shape of the outsole and shape of the heel collar looks off to me, as well. They look less ergonomic now to me.

Anyway, I don't skate these shoes, so it's not a deal breaker for me, personally

It's weird because I think the original shoe was fine as it was, made more sense to just put a new model out altogether, but I guess they just wanted to milk it a little more. Maybe Tyshawn was asking for these changes (doubt it because I haven't seen him skate the new ones), but the silhouette doesn't even look the same. The other remastered pair (the non-low) looks absolutely dreadful.

Hard to tell but maybe they ditched the vulc wrap inside a cup thing and it's all just a cup now. The two layers look much tighter.

I think apart from some changes in the shape the main change is the cushioning

Some of the panel sizes are different.
Wondering if these are going the way of the Janoski.. after a few seasons, they find ways to drop quality to produce them cheaper since they're selling so well.
Could be cheaper/quicker shapes of leather to cut, ect...

Looks like they added some volume on the toes, I tried the originals in my usual adidas size and felt fine except in the toebox, maybe the remastered ones don't feel so cramped to go half size up.

You're probably onto something here, Adidas quality has been dropping lately. I've heard a lot of talk from my friends in the UK who are into the trainer culture that Adidas across the board is just not where it used to be, which is funny because they weren't exceptional beforehand.

I haven't really bought adidas skateboarding in a long time, locals don't carry it here, but I remember it being decent enough if not comparable to nike. Now? Who the hell knows.

I think Adidas got a lot more aggressive towards shops and essentially got themselves out of a lot of skate shops. Friends from my local have vaguely referenced their business model being anti-skateshop, which isn't hard to believe (they fired their entire sales team a few years ago). Only one store in my entire state carries them nowadays and even then they all end up on clearance. I honestly don't know why Adidas even continues to have a skate-centric line when they so clearly want to roll the entire operation into the Originals brand, having been trying to market it like one of their sports or fashion divisions (when it is neither).

It's been at least 5 years (maybe 10) but Adidas doesn't even advertise their skate line as skateboarding in Aus it's just originals. Youre almost more likely to see a pair of busenitz in a clothing store than a skate shop

adidas has been blowing it for a minute now. Appart from the puigs and busenitz most pro models are rushed and/or unoriginal (Nora and Tyshawns mids). Non signature models that are actually good are difficult to find (samba adv, campus adv, pro model adv,  superstar adv, forum 84 adv) and when they have a great model like the copa nationale, they choose bad colorways and decide for some reason to change the design and make it weaker and uglier. I don't understand the adidas skateboarding direction at all. I'm currently skating the Puigs but it will probably be my last adidas until they get their shit together. NB#, etnies (who would have guessed), Nike SB (exclusively for the blazer and the dunks), Last resorts (if you're  into simple vulcs), and maybe DC and Emerica feel like the only ones worth supporting...

Curious if anyone knows who the actual decision makers are at adidas skateboarding. After a quick search i cant really find anyone between Paul Shier and the global head of “action sports” which is disheartening

adidas has been blowing it for a minute now. Appart from the puigs and busenitz most pro models are rushed and/or unoriginal (Nora and Tyshawns mids). Non signature models that are actually good are difficult to find (samba adv, campus adv, pro model adv,  superstar adv, forum 84 adv) and when they have a great model like the copa nationale, they choose bad colorways and decide for some reason to change the design and make it weaker and uglier. yeah....bummer that they changed or maybe dicontinued the copa nationales- such a dope shoe. over the span of the pandemic i feel like you could find puigs and tyshawns, maybe some busenitz on the adidas page. site is stocked very weird/ thinly when it comes to their skate product. why not do samba and some other classics ADV/ Skate style in carry over colors and grab that money because round here everybody would give an arm and a leg to grab some sambas or spezials.

did i dream or did scott johnston recently post something on insta that he left adidas?
