adidas has been blowing it for a minute now. Appart from the puigs and busenitz most pro models are rushed and/or unoriginal (Nora and Tyshawns mids). Non signature models that are actually good are difficult to find (samba adv, campus adv, pro model adv,  superstar adv, forum 84 adv) and when they have a great model like the copa nationale, they choose bad colorways and decide for some reason to change the design and make it weaker and uglier. I don't understand the adidas skateboarding direction at all. I'm currently skating the Puigs but it will probably be my last adidas until they get their shit together. NB#, etnies (who would have guessed), Nike SB (exclusively for the blazer and the dunks), Last resorts (if you're  into simple vulcs), and maybe DC and Emerica feel like the only ones worth supporting...

Curious if anyone knows who the actual decision makers are at adidas skateboarding. After a quick search i cant really find anyone between Paul Shier and the global head of “action sports” which is disheartening

He did. It wasnt a hard post on instagram just a story post but he announced it thanked homies posted a going away shoe for him (i think a stan smith?)

I forgot the model, but it had Stan smith sized perforated holes all over the toe piece and the rest was a normal adidas

Busenitz colorway was the ideal version. I don’t know what it was but it fit so much better and didn’t feel as cheap as the subsequent one.

Do you mean the next version of the campus or just the next colour as "the subsequent one"? I had trouble with the og campus vulcs because they were very narrow but also extra long. I think their next vulc shoe was the "skate" which i noticed had very weird sizing. Depending on colour it was basically two different shoes that fit completely differently. Later I randomly tried on some campus vulcs again and think they had the same problem as they fit ok

I was referring to the very first black/white Campus Vulc which was Busenitz’s colorway. By subsequent one I meant pretty much all Campus Vulcs after it (including the black/white colorway) felt cheaper.

I remember exactly how these felt when I put them on the first time. Very high quality and fit great.
Each model produced after this was progressively worse, and never included the suede/padded tongue again.
The shapes changed drastically from season to season.

There's another one or two with that sole in Japan too. I think this is the direction they should lean into, altho I don't like this particular shoe (I think it has some ok ideas but too many crammed into one shoe) all the other stuff looks like it's from somewhere like "the shoe barn" or "bargain shoe warehouse". Really want to see all the ASICS cut in half wear tested style to see what going on internally

I loved the Copa Nationales. Got lucky and found a pair at Ross for $40. They skated great and lasted awhile. That’s a shame they started making them all in crazy colors and got rid of the design. I got some Tyshawns from the eBay sale and I thought they were amazing for skating. I will say they don’t really look inspiring. But these days I’m going mostly for function over fashion with my kicks. I just got a pair of Tiago 1010’s and I skated them once. Not hyped on them but not bummed either. They look cool and my feet are comfy.

Wondering if these are going the way of the Janoski.. after a few seasons, they find ways to drop quality to produce them cheaper since they're selling so well.
Could be cheaper/quicker shapes of leather to cut, ect...

You're probably onto something here, Adidas quality has been dropping lately. I've heard a lot of talk from my friends in the UK who are into the trainer culture that Adidas across the board is just not where it used to be, which is funny because they weren't exceptional beforehand.

Have to agree here. I haven’t bought any Adidas in about two years, and even then they were old stock busenitz. I stopped though because the Nizza was one of my favorite shoes ever. Used to be like $60, super durable/comfortable. Now I guess they took off because they’re $90 and about half the quality of when they relaunched. Long story short, fuck Adidas

i generally love asics, but for some reason the rise on the arch/inner part of the midfoot sole or w/e you want to call it on the japan s, bugs the shit out of me. not functionally, just design-wise
