Just saw a pretty funny post in one of the facebook groups I'm in. eS just released a new version of the Penny 2 in white leather with a navy suede toebox. Someone ordered it and received a completely different shoe. Instead of being navy suede it has an elephant print leather toecap.

Legitimately mind-boggling how this slips past QC.

92 has a shorter height. Different tongue, different paneling. The fit is different, I can't say if it's anymore or less comfortable. the current pair I have were giving me an absolute nightmare on my right foot, took 2-3 weeks to break in where I didn't have to take them off. I measured and there was a noticeable difference with measurements on each shoe.

Checked out a Vans store recently and got to feel these two in hand:

The Nick Michel have a definite Navy outsole and not black like promo photos may have shown. They also have a really supple, soft feeling to the leather. Feels great in hand.



Zahba Mid feels weird on foot. They need a removable insole like Popcush to actually cup your feet better. They feel  too hard of an outsole and footbed feeling. Not an ideal fit for my foot shape, but there's potential if they did a proper midsole with a good removable insole (AVE Pro) in there to make them more comfortable. I tried them on 0.5 up and they felt good. TTS felt a little small, so fair warning for anyone with medium to wide shoes, they may not run TTS for you:

92s are wider in the toebox, i’m a 9.5 in skate half cabs but 92s i can go with a 9 and they fit well. the shoes aren’t all that good though, i think i was fooled by the nostalgia, i got my first pair of half cabs when i was 13 and i loved them so so much, the ones they make these days aren’t even that durable, i had 4 different pairs of them this year and not one lasted more than 3 weeks. i want to say nice things about them and i really want them to be good but shit they just aren’t.

White version of the Greco's posted, looks like Ludvig Hakansson is off Last Resort now? Who the hell knows. Are these Greco Hammers just from LRAB?

Side note: did some digging via import records and found that last resort are made in the same factory as seavee shoes. Unarguably the worst pair of shoes I've owned in my entire life came from seavees, bought them two months ago on Amazon and after a week of casual work wear they were trashed. The fabric actually ripped off the outsole.

That's exactly what happened to my pair of LRABs, just from walking. Took about a week.

I have both and the collar height is identical. The tongues are identical. SOME 92s MAY have a thicker tongue than the regular skate halfcab, but it could vary from colorway to colorway. Haven't noticed it myself, but some have seen it.

The most notable difference is how they fit: regular skate ones are snug and lock your foot in. The 92s are wider in certain spots than the regular ones. The second big difference is the toe panel is layered and not connected on the 92. This let's the toe box fit differently for people, as well.

I felt like I had to lace up my 92s to fit tighter like my regular skate ones. The 92 also felt like my heel was lower in the shoe than the regular ones. Even though the collars were identical to me.

I remember hearing the owner of a shop I was in telling the Vans rep that they like black soled shoes and I wanted to shake a plastic bottle of change at him to scare him off, but maybe they sell well enough

They're running out of ways to do the same thing differently.

I honestly like them aside from the hiking laces, and exaggerated jazz stripe. But I've also always been in to pretty much the opposite of what's trendy.

Those Zahba mids have a pink and green sole. That looks sick. Get rid of that red on the wave, and give me alternative green and pink laces, I’d have a go.
