I agree, but it’s weird to have never heard of a Canadian skater.   It’s not like they don’t get coverage or can’t release parts like everyone else does.

I’m not being funny, but this is literally the first day I’ve heard of Mikey or Jenny skateboards.   I don’t think they’ve traveled well to the US

I did a google search and found them for 199aud ($127) and £85 ($108).

Jenny is Bradley Sheppard's brand out of Vancouver - he talks briefly about the origin of it in his 2019 Bunt interview. I don't think they're super well known outside of Canada or even Western Canada. Not my scene, so I'm not super aware of them either, tbh. Pretty cool that Sole Tech has given them a couple colourways, though. I'm thinking they'll probably be a Canada-only release, but I'm not basing that on anything except that non-Canadians seem to have never heard of the brand.

Ray Barbee has always separated step hops from no complies. Step hop being from flat and off the tail, and no comply being bonked off a curb. Can’t remember anymore where I heard now but 43 I thought was a no comply 180. Now it’s just no comply this, no comply that..

Makes sense to do small collabs instead of (outside of Etnies) breathing some life into your tech/innovation and creating shoes people want and like. There is no reason an modern thinner Accel should not be as successful as anything similar from a top brand. If NB can take a shoe that was developed in 1983 and tweak it for skating it shouldn't too nuts for an original skate shoe to be tweaked for the modern era. The reviews of the newer Accel variants are not stellar and people seem to like skating modern DC's.

Kalynx Zero seems to be pushed moderately hard by DC over the original Kalynx (Nocturnal colorway for example).

Hilarious take given the sizes of each corporation you’re referring to. A quick google told me new balance did 5.3 BILLION last year. Sole tech came up with different numbers but the one that kept showing was 54 million.
How can a company really keep up if the competitors are in the billions of revenue? not to mention I’m sure order larger quantities from factories to make things more affordable for the company etc while sole tech is just simply not on the same level.

I had a pair of them before austyn got on and they run big, Size 10 my normal shoe size and I had to half size down to a 9.5. They're a pretty basic vulc but feel high quality if that makes sense. If I'm being honest, I'd look at the applyard mahalos. Not barebones and has some padding around the collar + tongue and fits tts.
