Speaking of Vans, has anyone on here tried the Lizzie low?
I’m not really into vans but I like the look of that shoe.
Curious about sizing and grip.

Had the night one and the rubber compound messed up my flick, hated them.
Ok, but how was the fit and grip?

There’s been discussion on this board with that article about the new CEO - VF isn’t going to turn Vans around by focusing on appealing more to the most niche skater crowds. He needs to appeal to more and more mainstream audience members.

Bingo. It always baffles me when people around here mention a company should re-release such-and-such shoe, even if hal--jokingly, because that could turn their fortunes around.

I mean, maybe it would work for eS or Lakai, for some type of brand that is so core that only skaters buy them, but otherwise? Vans, adidas, NB#, Nike...? People don't even grasp how infinitely small numbers are generated by sales of skateboarding shoes strictly to skaters. And i don't mean in regards to adidas or Nike in general. Just their skateboarding sub-divisions. I don't have the numbers, but I would wager that anywhere between 80 and 90% of Nike SB or adidas Skateboarding shoes are sold to "casuals" who simply like the look (with an added bonus for Nike (rather their marketing) who made their SB line sought out by hypebeasts).

Chi gli manca la casa, chi vive da solo,
Chi trova scontato, chi come ha trovato...

You make a good point as I’m thinking about how many of the shoppers at any Vans store/outlet actually skate and I would bet it’s minimal.

imagine if they made this crockett with similar materials / stitching to the brown decons that came out a few months back? would have sold out instantly...instead let's make it cOrDuRoY.

this pains me as i love this damn shoe

Saw the one star academy cromer was wearing.   It (unfortunately to me) has that hairy suede in the white colorway.   Didn’t see others

Lots of talk on here about adidas fucking up, but how have converse not kept the pro leather in rotation? It's hard to even find the non-skate version (which skate amazing) here in the UK.

It's a classic, easy cupsole shoe. Looks good. Skates good. Surely they should be producing it as a Bobby signature shoe and then rolling it out as a general model?

Probably has something to do with the fact they're run by Nike, meaning they're always going to be treated as secondary to Nike's business. I bet they slashed production to push the Blazer.

Yeah it's really confusing to me to release a vulc version in 2023 of a shoe that has a huge legacy in skateboarding as a cupsole given cupsoles are so popular again.

Gotta disagree about the non-skate version though. I bought the white ones and they were some of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever had. The upper was stiff and wouldn't break in even after 20 wears or so and the rubber they used for the sole was hard as a rock. Don't know how people skated those.

The originals were perfect soft for skating. They made the proper OGs in the 2013/2014 skate line but didn't do many good colours.

Really nice soft leather. I've had a thing for skating non-skate shoes (mainly due to cost) and so pro leathers, adidas continentals and club C's have been my go-to at the moment.
