So often I feel like my experience doesn't match everyone else's. The Reynolds 3 was probably one of my least favourite shoes of all time. Huge potato tongue, sole went bald in one weekend, stumpy toe, weird butt stitching on toe cut the shit out of the top of my foot, sole completely seperated off the heel.
Altho I guess they lasted longer than all the other emerica vulcs..
i remember different....at first.
when they came our they had a more defined shape and not as puffy of a tongue. after a few seasons quality took a dip and the shoes were as you described them. Same happened on my herman g-codes and herman 2. the later the puffier/ less quality.
typical soletech at the time
also bummed for you that you had that experience with one of the most loved shoes at that time. at least around me everybody was rocking reynolds 3s, krew k-slims and a white button up for a couple years after baker 3 came out
i recall certain colors seemed to have a crazy puffy tongue, like some brown suede ones I tried on. My green nubuck ones had a normal tongue, fairly wide soa slight wrap, but otherwise the show was perfect. I didn't find the vulc to wear to quickly either. Height of it was perfect too, like a quarter mid, or a low without too much of that drop around the ankle.
fuck man, now that you say it....could've been really dependent on the colorway too.....2005 was a whiiiile ago

i guess i might just have these first few/ made very famous colorways (via baker 3 reynolds and herman especially) in high regard. never been able to even get these since they sold out.
but i had a purple upper with white sole reynolds 3 and they were pretty good.
vulcs back then were different i feel like. harder rubber maybe? very welcome if anybody in the know wanna chime in......
i too remember a fallen trooper shoe around the ride the sky video that was a vulc but pretty bulletproof for me
