Y’all remember that weird point in time when swing dancing was popping? some traveling swing dance troupe came to our high school and one of the dudes were wearing these airwalks, I think that was the point in time where I decided that airwalks were no longer cool

I get they have basically the same design but iirc the emericas were a lot wider and stiffer then the vans, like you couldn’t choke them if u tried - maybe j this color way but they felt damn near like plastic - super firm. Idk I’m probably wrong for saying they looked like bowling shoes but they definitely didn’t feel like vans old skools

They skated really good imo the sole was cupsole too but was kinda cheap in a good way.

Word they blew out super fast for me but I also didn’t buy them fresh out the shop I found them at a thrift store but they looked barely worn, the toe box on mine never lost this weird bulbous hard shape that made them feel super stiff.

Since no one wants to share new sh*t - heres an Adi shoe for fall '25. Looks decent, getting some 90s eqt vibes and just general mid 90s athletic court style. Some cool moments in the upper and the outsole design is fun, but personally I think they could have looked way better.





My biggest issue with this shoe is that the forefoot of the tooling is reminiscent of the DC stag a bit - this kind of design language is fairly common in 'athletic cupsole' style shoes and is just unoriginal. The designers need to be better than that. So many cool eqt and other adi court shoes they could have pulled from to circumvent this.

it's like a copy of a copy. really don't understand how they managed to design a shoe that lacks any of their familiar design language and looks so much like a garbage DC shoe. I can't find a single adidas model with any of these design aspects, they just cut parts from other non-adidas shoes and made an absolute monstrosity of a shoe.

emerica had a old Colin provost model that was just a vans era pro. I swear it skated better than the era pros

As a person who owns a lot of Adidas and is wearing some right now, this shoe offends me...
