but it’s crazy to me that converse gave Sage Elsesser a new color way, I mean I feel like he kinda disappeared from the skate light for a bit and there’s so many guys on cons that they shoulda done something with, for example Brad Cromer (I’m sure a Jack Purcell mid colorway would sell).
With the lack of models and a boring selection, I just feel like they coulda used someone more relevant to work with, I’m sure not a lot of people will agree but that’s my hot take

There's an interview with Carroll where he talks about seeing the new Lakai with some of the shoe designs that Lakai made before the mass exodus. It's cool to see Bastien skating more and the shoe looks alright.

How can anyone look at this shoe and not see that the outsole/midsole design is a straight rip of the Reynolds1? Even the little tab at the front top of the toebox is a rip. The rest of the upper is admittedly more inspired by older Lakai models.

And people are mostly saying that it’s an interesting shoe. I expected them to release more models like that when they did that one Carroll re-issue inspired by one of his first Lakai pro models in like 2020/2021 but it seems like that remained an unexplored territory.

Damn, I knew the England town thing but just assumed he named a shoe after the guy who designed his Vans pro shoe.   I think I thought the Telford existed before that the English phase and then was brought back

The Lakai shoe looks good, I feel tempted. But the Lakai situation is like the Chicago Bulls with some new ownership  have a player rocking the 23 Jordan jersey and his last name is Mora.
