Wow, BATB results carry that much weight?

I wouldn't say BATB is necessarily such a big reason, I think it's more like one of the indicators that Cole really killed it that year as a whole

Seriously, Phelps has never cared what a skater's done for another magazine or web site, it's all about what they've done for the mag. So if Dennis did win the Berrictology contest, it's probably not going to make shit's worth of difference if he doesn't get an interview or tour article or whatever for Thrasher.

that's why Leo didn't win the year before last. I distinctly remember a video of someone saying "what about Leo? He's gotten a ton of coverage." and Phelps straight out saying "not for my mag!"

to be honest it wasn't the speed that impressed me in the real part - it was how fast he can setup for tricks, and how he doesn't really seem to "think" when he's on the board...it just seems to happen

Westgate (who shoulda won last year) and Busenitz should be close to neck and neck with a slight edge going to Dennis. But I'm pretty sure Phelps is gonna give it to Grant regardless of anyones skating. Dude has a serious man crush on Grant.

Chris Cole won because he back 360'd and Switch frontside flipped wallenberg at the thrasher comp.
