If an alien civilization had the means to discover us on earth and then somehow travel the unimaginably vast distance to come visit us, they would ipso facto cruise right past us to somewhere more interesting.

It would be like if you stopped and investigated every ant hill you passed while walking down the street.  Of course no one does that, because who the fuck cares about an ant hill, we’ve got shit to do.
