How do you learn how to dance?

I am approaching thirty and would love to be able dance with friends at bars and weddings without having to be hammered to have the confidence.

I grew up in a family that never dances... I would love to break that cycle

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Always ask a homie. See who has the best move’s and just copy them.

If you was in Massachusetts I def meet up give you some pointers. I’m a certified boss on the floor almost any type of music.

When I’m skateboarding I’m dancing too. You can see it if you look close. In between tricks I’m shifting my weight from foot to foot without lifting my wheels usually.

I have this issue where there’s music constantly running in my head. It never even goes away so I learned to move with it.

Do you like music? Prettty crucial i think that you know what moves you, bump it in the car, the kitchen, get down on your own, just move around and get as stupid as possible, movin your mind as far as possible from rational thought. Try making small movements that feel nice and flow, like you were doing a skate trick over and over just because it feels right.
I was out dancing last night, girl I've been dating invited me to Britney Spears night at a local club. I've always found queer vibes way more comfortable to dance in, or raves, better than fancier bar or club scenes with a bunch of egos to bump into. Find a party that looks fun, probably best if its totally outside your friend zone so you don't feel like you are being judged by people you know. Find someone you know who likes to dance, could be a coworker or friend of a friend, it's actually better if they're not a close friend. Tell them you need to party, buy them a ticket, whatever, consider it a dancing lesson. Take some mushrooms or molly if you want, but keep it minimal, and keep the booze to a minimum. You have a mission dammit!
You can learn moves or whatever later, but it all starts with just being comfortable moving your body around other people, which is easier to learn in a judgement-free space with people you know truly don't give a fuck and just want to have a good time. Once you actually learn to enjoy dancing, it'll be easier to do it in different situations. Remember: dancing is about enjoying yourself, the rest doesn't matter unless you're auditioning for RiverDance. I think it's awesome you want to dance, good luck.

I miss going dancing so much. It’s so freeing. My greatest moments of clarity come on when I’m really really getting into it. Everyone starts moving in slow motion and the peak of the beat followed by the break. I could do that forever

I want to be able to dance like this mofo:

When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

Natas invented the 80 switch crook on a curb in speed freaks? They called it sugar cane but clearly he’s in switch crook. “Only Natas can do them”

Play Just Dance and watch You Got Served... you’re welcome.

Just thought today Bam might be responsible for bringing the Philiy accent (my favorite) to the mainstream.

If Christians think that their religion is a sequel to Judaism, why did they not convert to Islam? Also, what do flat-earthers think of the moon?

Would you ever take any sort of advice from a Scientologist? I don’t discriminate against advice from religious people, but I’m not sure it’s a religion.

Nah, it's a cult with the same tax benefits as a religion. Also, religions are just big, organized cults, with tax benefits.

will my puppy eventually catch a crow?

why do people do a terrible job raising children (I understand generational trauma. I work with families etc. I'm just bent about it)

why do certain drugs need to be so damn addictive?
What sort of dog, why do you want it to catch a crow?
Why does anything have to be addictive. At least drugs are cool I'm addicted to sugar and salt

I don't want it to catch a crow, no freakin way, man. where I live crows and ravens are the primary birds. they're all over the yard and fence. she went chasing after one today for the first time. She is a 14 week German Shepherd, Husky, Akita mix. Super sweet puppy
That's got to be a beautiful dog. Pics or it didn't happen.

Why do normies care?  They say you should make those vests and sell them to people. I’m like well that would be against my beliefs. Selling pre studded objects to normal people is illegal and makes the kooks. Studding a jacket is a right of passage in my culture. At some point and outsider took our belt culture and put it the mall. Now everyone has the same belts. If you can’t make the jacket you don’t really deserve it now do you? Especially if you can’t read the jacket. My jackets Sneering at the system.

So you understand right then pick up my groceries I wave I accidentally roll my eyes at them because they look like I just killed their puppy.

They probably just wanted me to be like What an original idea! Kinda like my fashion completely 2022 thing goin here. High five go team.

I speak straight to the eye more information than needed to illuminate the facts.

Why does the right care so much about banning LGBTQ+ books but no one talks about banning Mein Kampf? Hitler's book was worth the most points for the Scholastic book competition, where we would read books and take ten-question quizzes to score points, which we could redeem for junk food and other shit. The other books with the highest points were Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead [by Ayn Rand] and LOTR books. I didn't read any of those, but took the quizzes so I could beat everyone else.

My eighth-grade history teacher, who was from the south, told my class that the Civil War was really about state rights, and not slavery. My eleventh-grade history teacher said that slavery wasn't all bad, it was exaggerated by the Union, and that, "Black people were treated like dogs and were a part of their family." I wish I called him out on it. After the election, he surveyed the class, asking who would have voted for Obama, if they could vote, and gave everyone who raised their hands candy. He was also one of the most popular teachers in the school too. Kids liked these teachers, but I thought they were trash.

I hated my experience with the public school system. Reflecting on my time made me understand why people from that area were, and still are, pieces of shit. Anyone from that high school, except for one or two guys, that I ever hung out with, would at some point, go off on racist rants about Black people. It would be while smoking a bowl or having a couple shots. I really wish I would have told them to get the fuck out of my house, instead of ignoring that shit like Chris Roberts. Not saying anything is as bad as agreeing with them. They would also weirdly brag about: having big dicks, their sexual encounters, and using magnums, but had such a big problem with women who hook up with Black guys.

Basketball shoes are too crazy. They should all go back to wearing blazers.

Also (I won't post it in the actual thread because it will just be taken as a purposely shit take) it wouldn't suprise me if like crob, Kelly, eldy etc were actually that checked out that they thought oblows story was real. They seem like guys who spent most of their lives focused on their own little bubble and didn't pay attention to much of anything else.

I always feel conflicted when my dog kills stuff. It’s her nature in a way I don’t think I can understand as a modern human, but I still feel guilty.

how americans think other countries' populations are heavily propagandized, which is true, but often fail to realize how propagandized they are themselves. hollywood, sports, corporate media, silicon valley - it's all heavily influenced if not completely controlled by the government and constantly pumps out propaganda.

What would I have been like if I was super good at skateboarding? What kind of persona would I have in the skate media?

Like, would having the cushion of having people being nice to me and wanting to be my friend cause I was good at skateboarding gone straight to my head? Would I have been "myself" more often without having to care about the insanely harsh rules of our no rules little subculture that come with harsher consequences for those of us who kind of suck? Would I have been a complete kook? Would I have been more likely to tell a few of the dudes who were super good in my scene that they were complete pieces of shit rather than (sometimes) feeling like they could walk over me?

I'm kind of glad I was pretty average at skateboarding, but I do wonder what things would have been like if I was as good as some of my friends. Would I have done better or worse with their talent?

How good is super good? I might of been the same but I was kinda (full dickhead thing to say) wish I was a few notches less good in my peak. Every now and then I'll see my old really good friends on social and it seems like it was a total waste of their 16-30 years of their lives.
