Somewhere in time there’s a race of beings tasked with stopping the spread of humans in the cosmos.

Racing through time and space they seek Homosapien Zero in the Crab Nebula before the man rash reaches the home world!

I'm done buying stuff because it "was a good deal"

I realize that I'm think I'm incredibly deal savvy, but in the long run I waste more more (and time) hunting for some deals, as opposed to just biting the bullet for what I want or need right away. A (maybe relatable) example of this buying decks on sale. I see an 8.5 for a cheap price and buy it without thinking, so I can stash it away til I need it. But in reality it's some terrible shape/size/quality that immediately sucks some of the joy out of the experience of setting up a fresh deck. That's not to say I'm going to throw money around without thinking about it, but I'm better off buying the deck I actually want, as opposed to having 3 decks I kinda like stashed away in case I somehow break 3 decks in one session. This certainly applies outside of skating too. quality not quantity, I guess

Also, on a completely unrelated note, Independent should sell a Christmas box set of trucks sizes 139 to 215. Include different bushings and a set of IKPs. Perfect for nerds who care too much about trucks and want to experiment and tinker. Think of it like a box set of DVDs for your favorite show, but just like 6 pairs of trucks.

Thinking about video games today at work. I wish there was a skateboarding game that was more like you know you jump down a psychedelic hole and all these obstacles you just gotta hit them on your way down. Like an infinite line attempt in a sustained sky dive. You gotta like try to react quick enough to hit the obstacles on the way down the psychedelic hole.

I would say the name of the video game I’m thinking of, but I can’t remember it. You know you just went down this hole in this little vehicle and shot shit while everything changed awesome colors and they listened to some shitty fat master slam or whatever the fuck that idiot Dj‘s name was

Yeah, I don’t want realism. I don’t want skate for any of that bullshit. I want something new never done before.

Because the Layton shower posts were used and there’s speculation that it derived from revenge porn or something like that, so it’s fucked (if not illegal) to spread that photo

When we all die I hope we’re all transported to Palhalla. You know those of us so holy that we die with skate in hand or perhaps underfoot.

5.6s and top me off with a few boxes of F4. That’s what I need. Burn forever.
Strike the match. Poof!

I been thinking I need a plot a plot. I wanna find some way out hill side. Have a block to bomb. Just add plywood. Too bad Marblehead fams not curb or hill side. They got no stone. And I loved those cats.  I could ask hmm? Hmm?.

I force myself to go every year because I don’t want the management team thinking I am disengaged (which I am). I have a strategy though…

Show up high go straight to the bar and have a double whiskey. Now I’m ready to talk.

Average two drinks an hour for 3 hours. Smoke another joint and then Uber back to a hotel.

People think I’m happy to see them but I’m high and drunk.

Also, don’t bring a date or people will want to talk with you. I fly to the company party so I have a built in excuse for why my wife doesn’t attend.

Yeah, I probably shouldn’t let them know how disengaged I’ve become. Anymore than I already have, I guess. Fuck. I don’t drink anymore, which sucks for my social skills, but I am still on the wacky tobacky so I think I can make this work. Anyway, good advice! Thanks.

Why do people let video games get them so enraged that they break their expensive controllers and headsets? I've been thinking about this one for a while and cannot come to a sound reasoning as to why someone would let a moment of anger lead them to doing this shit. It's in the same vein of punching holes in your drywall because mommy wouldn't give you chicken nuggets for dinner, imo.

mad at things in their life they can't control

so they get angry at the one thing they think they can control (literally controlling a character in a video game) and when they can't control that either they resort to rage

it isnt until the last controller is focused will they realize you have no control over anything

just enjoy the ride

that's a really good take on that. i had a friend years ago who would always smash controllers and uncontrollably mad. i've always just turned it off and came back. never thought of it that way.

You'd have to think almost everybody on this forum has known multiple people who regularly would rage focus boards. (Some likely did it themselves) Gotta be the same thing as well.

Never considered that, but I'd say you're correct in that assessment. I know I was guilty of focusing boards out of rage while filming when I was younger.

thanks.

i unfortunately know only by alienating myself from many people who cared about me through such behavior (i would get irrationally mad at shit like parking, not being able to do something in my first attempt like a new hobby or skill) and surmise i am inferior and am not trying hard enough to accomplish whatever the task at hand is. i was mad at my own failure and raging was my cope, for only milliseconds of relief, and years of regret and embarrassment for myself.

idk who needs to hear this but as skaters im sure everyone here knows its okay to be really bad at something, or straight up not be able to do something. you need to be nice and patient to yourself which many (including myself) forget.

anyway thats about as much coherence my brain can handle for right now

Im vacillating between becoming the office union shop steward or not. I don’t like extra work. I don’t like responsibilities. I don’t like the last shop steward. The thing is, I do believe in unions. I do think I can do better by my colleagues. I do want to know as much as possible about the inner workings of the union and its relations with the employer.

I don’t know guys. Maybe I’ll find some joy in doing something new and for the greater good. Maybe filing a bunch of grievances just to fuck with the bosses will be cool.

Management sucks. We need a new contract ASAP.
