What is the moment/situation that led to a person quitting skating, never to return?
Realized they don't like it that much.
Topic pivot...
Is it just an east coast thing to call the ground outdoors the "floor".
In my neck of the woods, floors are pretty much exclusively indoor/manmade, and ground is exclusively outdoor/unfinished.
There are a few exceptions though, I think.
A surface can be manmade but still "ground", streets, sidewalks, parking lots, etc are all still "ground". Not floor.
I think being outdoors is the biggest qualifier for whether it's floor or ground.
I guess if a cabin or something had a dirt floor it could...well, I just answered my own question, I said "dirt floor", so there's an example of when unfinished can be called "floor", because it's indoors I guess.
I'll use the term "forest floor" in description, but if I'm actually
in the forest and drop my beer I'd say "Aw man I dropped my beer on the ground", not the floor.
