I pondered who the genius was that did this:

But left this:

My mind is truly confused by the lack of knowledge in this. I’m tempted to start skating that curb just as a fuck you.

If you were skating there from 85-97 chances are we skated together or I probably knew, or at least skated with your friends.

Last night i had a very strange dream. Part of it was talking to someone i went to high school with. Havent seen or heard from him in 15 years.

This morning on insta he was in my recommend to follow. That just seems too strange to be a coincidence. This is not the only strange thing like this to happen to me. Makes me ponder if the mind is connected to some ethereal realm beyond our understanding.

Oh great my phone is recording my dreams now too?

I had a dream I was in a store that was the size of like 4 Walmarts and all it sold were those giant foam cowboy hats.
Like a million different styles, colors, brand and sports team collabs, etc

If I start getting bombarded with ads for giant foam cowboy hats I'm gonna start locking my phone in a faraday cage at night.

Well, since you mentioned Planet X, I’m sure we crossed paths. Was either out front smoking or in the back watching vids or playing foosball unless I was in class/work/or skating. Dave tried opening another shop recently, but unfortunately it folded a little over a year ago.

this got me super curious, so i poked around a bit. i don’t know that we ever knew each other or skated together. i think i am a bit younger. i do remember that foosball table though. i always thought dave was a good dude. too bad his new shop didn’t work out. i never experienced another shop quite like planet x. it was super memorable.

What is the moment/situation that led to a person quitting skating, never to return?

Realized they don't like it that much.

Topic pivot...

Is it just an east coast thing to call the ground outdoors the "floor".
In my neck of the woods, floors are pretty much exclusively indoor/manmade, and ground is exclusively outdoor/unfinished.
There are a few exceptions though, I think.
A surface can be manmade but still "ground", streets, sidewalks, parking lots, etc are all still "ground". Not floor.
I think being outdoors is the biggest qualifier for whether it's floor or ground.
I guess if a cabin or something had a dirt floor it could...well, I just answered my own question, I said "dirt floor", so there's an example of when unfinished can be called "floor", because it's indoors I guess.
I'll use the term "forest floor" in description, but if I'm actually in the forest and drop my beer I'd say "Aw man I dropped my beer on the ground", not the floor.

I grew up on east coast, but the Southeast. To me, floor occurs when there is the concept of a “room”, whether it’s outdoors or indoors. The floor has a measurable dimension as well. A room typically needs vertical elements that define the edges.

Ground indicates there is no room, and no boundaries.

What about a torn down warehouse or building, where the concrete floor remains, and it becomes a DIY?  Ground or Floor?

Well now that’s a complicated thing, but I would say “ground”, as the walls of the structure no longer exist, and the old floor of the structure has now become ground whose edge is now blurred into the grass/dirt beyond it.
Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

I don't have a deep bag because these days it takes all I have to keep the tricks I can already do.
Sometimes it takes me the whole session just to land all my "greatest hits".
If I knock them out quickly enough, two to make it true with all of them, I'll start plugging away on a new or neglected trick, but that opportunity doesn't always arise.

One time years ago I posted on a slap thread where I called something “the shit”, don’t really remember the topic. Anyways, couple of posters made fun of me for using that phrase. Made me wonder if calling something the shit isn’t a common thing to say. Is it regional? Were they fucking with me? Haunts me to this day

It’s either or regional or you got trolled. I heard that expression in California and in the Midwest. A lot of people used to say TITS which stands for “This Is The Shit” in 2018 and there was even a weed strain named T.I.T.S.

I say “the shit”
“That’s that shit”
Or even “what kinda shit is this?” And sometimes “what the shit!!!” Which happens to be a quote from La Bamba. When Ritchie Valens’s brother Bob hears about the passing of his brother.

I’m pondering. Why does this long bLoard have 6 wheels?

Is it supposed to be used with a sail or something?

Most kids I skated with in middle school realized they weren't that good and just became jocks because it was more immediate gratification and they could quantify how much better they were vs someone else.

I didn't skate for a few years due to life and work, but always wanted to. I think had 2 incredibly bad mountain biking accidents that took another few to rehab and I was hesitant about taking skating impact. Now I'm much more scared of another mountain bike crash or getting hit by a car commuting.

I associate the term Tits with boobs or that series Oz. They called drugs tits. Or it might’ve been that movie about escaping from some English prison that I can’t remember the name. In the end he don’t actually escape. He dies with someone whispering in his ear the details of planed escape on some like some time dilation from adrenal gland trip.

still wondering what the argument is for not putting your sponsors in your bio on insta

is it used as a bargaining chip now? ..as in.. i'm not putting my sponsors name in my bio unless they pay x amount...

am I correct in this assumption? or are people just not even stoked to be sponsored and getting help?

Do fingerboarders ever focus their boards?
