This whole "Brixton, I work in my garage on my Schaaf style motorcycle when I'm not skating while wearing weird Brixton hats and rockin' a killer mustache and witty tattoos look."

This shit has to stop.  I got an Active Catalog in the mail today (I'm 24 and still get 12-year-old mail) and I was checkin' it out while I was on the shitter.  They are trying so hard to accomplish this blue color working man Brixton look.  Since when was it cool to wear boots, black framed glasses, a flannel, some dumb slick back hair and a dumb fuckin' mustache!?

Fuck I hate everything!
[close]

you would hate my neighborhood
[close]

And me.  I work on motorcycles and have tattoos.  I didn't know that many people did it aside from Schaaf though.
[close]

i think it's more of the v-neck, faux-cal greaser look that he's talking about. and they've moved on from flannels to dull blue/gray button ups and hitler youth hair stylings.

Yeah, you nailed it.  If motocycles are something that you are and have been into then I obviously have no problem, eveyone has their hobbies.  But so many people are just faking it and it drives me nuts.  That look is soo hot right now in So Cal.  fuckers!

Is there a way to accomplish the Morrissey pompadour whilst still wearing the stupid beanie on the back of your head?  That would be a sweet twofer.

tranny skating being unpopular - no one down for bowl sessions
bopping beanies/snapbacks
hunched backs
the lords of dogtown imitators who go to the skatepark after boogyboarding and do two handed bertlemans everwhere
no one doing stylish bertlemans
no one doing footplants
no one doing handplants
people who write off tranny skaters
shake junt
not enough punk in skateboarding these days

Are you seriously trying to call buzz cuts a trend? Next thing you know, its not cool to wear jeans when you skate.

most of the responses in this thread. not what was said, just that you hit "post" after the things you typed. I'm tired of that. Who cares about haircuts, pants, hats, etc.

Only thing I'm over is being the only one without headphones. Have you ever felt alone in a crowded room?

Kids trying everything I do in an effort to one up me. Makes me think "fuck you" and just do harder stuff.

Thats probably not a trend though, but kids don't know whats acceptable and what just isn't.

No shit. Headphone skating is kinda rude.  Not to mention if you're at the skatepark, you're not listening to what's going on around you if you have headphones on.

mikey taylor, rob dyrdeck, tyler bledsoe on alien workshop. They pretty much fucked up the company because it should be known for dill and ave and not those "mainstream" dudes.

dyrdeks been on alien since the beginning, he wasn't added as a way to draw in the younger crowds.

fuck you, bledsoe's sick and mikeys tight too. theres this cool thing called diversity, having all these guys you seem to dislike on alien add some other dimensions to the team and make it more interesting.

I'm pretty sure this has been said alot of times, but the one-foot catch, "no-grab benihana" flip tricks are one the biggest annoyances.
They look terrible, and kids would spend the whole day trying to perfect the front-foot catch fad.

Filipe is just taking this to another level by exerting no effort at all:

that second tre hurts my feelings  :'(

way way back before benihana flips were popular a friend and i would take the piss and do benihana pop shuvs as extreme as we could. it was a little game we played. the aim was to do outdo the other and make it as ridiculous as possible. it was fun I wont lie, but i must stress it was part of a ridiculous little game. when we did proper pop shuvs they were just that, proper pop shuvits. now benihana flips and shuvs are serious business.

its the ultimate slap-enrager, a yo flip to closefeet

also my lot still do the exagerated shuv thing, only when we did it a few years ago people would laugh with us, now we get alot of "whoa awesome shuv man"
