I started watching the ABC's of Death the other day with two of my Belgian friends who were staying with me - both girls - and they definitely weren't into it haha. I want to finish it but, yeah, so far most of them are pretty eh but I really want to see the R one because it's the only other thing Srdjan Spasojevic has done aside from A Serbian Film.
Speaking of A Serbian Film, I watched The Kill List the other day which was pretty good and couldn't help but draw a complete parallel comparison. One is obviously aggressive, to the point where it OBVIOUSLY stops worrying about taste to get its point across, and the other is a slow-boil designed to give you a false sense of comfort and security. They are of similar genres, sure, but they both take VERY different approaches. Kill List shows suburban life "in all it's beauty" - if you're into that suburban life sort of thing - slowly being corrupted by the leads. I think I probably liked the cinematography better in a Serbian film which was very retro-modern grindhouse-esque to me. Kill List cinematography was great as well though reminding me of Scandinavian films.
