Will and Harper is a very sweet doc about Will Ferrell taking a road trip with his long time friend and SNL head writer who recently transitioned.    Basically, Harper is from Iowa originally and wants support to go back and travel through a part of the country that might be hostile towards her but it’s just a touching portrait of two friends.

I would say outside of a mini screen shot of some negative tweets she’s received, there’s not a lot to Trigger Warn about

I’m looking forward to it bc I only did one play through of the sequel, but played the first one a lot in an attempt to 100% it that the show just felt like a cut scene recap

Why can't any of these streaming services just keep shit on? Its just some dumb way to get people to watch stuff.

Maybe time to get DVDs while we still can

Because they’re licensed for X amount of time before another streamer pays for it.   It’s how people make money off selling the rights

I actually have blue rays and dvds of a lot of my favorite movies

This will help, it’s where I’m heading (at least for really good movies) a lot of shit on these streaming services I find disposable

Wow that Crunchyroll story sucks. I worked for a streaming service that basically went away and I always felt bad for the people that spent a lot of money at that store. Some of the studios participated in Ultraviolet but a few biggies didn't so the users just lost those movies that weren't part of that program.

I worked for VUDU for a 2 months in 2007...I think Fandango bought them out.  But the funny thing about working for them at the time is that they wanted to be the first to stream porn...not crazy hardcore stuff, it was similar to stuff that used to be on the Spice channel back in the day.  They never ended up doing that and all the porn DVD's they had there was hilarious

Ha! I used to work for Cinemanow and some of the suits there split off and did a deal with Fandango to make FandangoNow which never caught on until they straight up bought Vudu. Those folks snakeing that deal was the beginning of the end for Cnow, even though it took a couple more years and a few new owners before the studios cut us off.

We also had a secret porno site called All Adult Channel that was running since the early 00s but it was straight up hardcore stuff. I think some of our encodes still live on on Adult Empire's streaming platform. The porno all wound up in an office on a big pallet in Westwood and it was truly an awesome pile of smut. I grabbed a DVD of Curb Dogs out of there and eventually that pile got thrown away with the move to Nakatomi Plaza.

Lol I watched both. I think they were both technically fine but I couldn't recommend either. Salem's lot seemed like it was made for like teens first scary movie or something. I got a little lucky because I didn't even know apt 7a was connected to Rosemary's baby when I first put it on.
SPOILER: they got unlucky with some shit like end of the movie has be my baby like barbarian and it's slot of wierd skinny girl dancing which has been in a few things recently

I don’t even remember Rosemarys Baby that well, but didn’t this movie basically crib (no pun) the ending of Exorcist?

Yeah kinda.
All I can really say is it's not the worst ever. Corner take away fish and chips, it's fine and does the job but you wouldn't be like omg everyone has to try this. But it's also not a plate of dog shit.

For sure.   Bog standard horror movie that would probably be best to stand on its own than live in the shadow of a classic (which it kinda seems like it does bc it’s not harping on the connection too hard), but I don’t think it’s target audience really cares too much.   It’s just spooky movie fodder for Halloween season, which can be fun for fun’s sake.  House of Spoils on Prime is in the category too

For anyone who caught the excellent Rebel Ridge on Netflix, the lead of that movie just got cast as the Green Lantern

This made me nostalgia for all those 90s American martial art films that had no CGI scenes or sets for the action scenes.  The build up to the last act was slow but engaging the whole time and I couldn't get enough of the main actor when he did his stare downs.

Did anyone check out It's what's Inside?  Not sure if I liked this one, the acting was amazing but the story from start to end wasnt really left me super confused.

Thought he was a just a no name hire who was picked for fighting ability (assumed his Bad Brains tattoo was real) until I saw he was a British thespian type.

It’s What’s Inside - thought it might be a movie for teens, so I was wary.    Do you recommend nonetheless?

Watched wolfs the other night, I thought it was alright. But I couldn’t get past the title. Why Wolfs and not Wolves?

I'm gonna suggest an intentional malapropism that emphasizes how unlikely they are to be able to work together. If they were a likely team up, they would be wolves.

The Cinematography is pretty dope...overall plot was kinda Meh to me and none of it made sense at the end.  I'd check it out if you want to see some really good young talent.

I just found out that almost every episode of the 1980s Granada series The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes has been uploaded to YouTube in high quality.

This one? If so, I'm a big fan. It's an Amblin production and is kind of the end of a cycle they started on with Temple of Doom where their movies turned darker. Though I saw it the theater and still think it's pretty scary, it was a bomb.
