The Lucas device is pretty ubiquitous now, both pre-hospital and in the ED. They came out in the early 2000's, but have really picked up in popularity over the last 10-15 years. I think the initial intent was to improve CPR in the back of an ambulance, but now that most agencies (hopefully) aren't transporting coding patients, it's more of a way to free up pair of hands that can do other tasks.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

I guess my only context is in medical shows and I haven’t really seen them until this point, but it totally makes sense and seems like such a no brainer invention.    Thanks for the name and info on it!

I think it’s interesting they structured the show as being one day in their shift.   Also, my old ass remembers the first ep of ER when Noah Wyle was the young, fresh faced doctor.

If you want a funny medical show, St Denis isn’t the best thing around but I liked Superstore and American Auto a lot, so I have plenty of good will towards it.

It’s older, but I think ‘getting on’ is a better version of St. Denis…

I'm absolutely hooked on this show. I have so many questions, but will continue to be excited for every Thursday night until I find out what exactly Lumon is

Just finisher the first season, show is great, thanks pals. Patricia Arquette's performance is next level skin-crawling, so good.

Im close to canceling my netflix, since there are probably 1-2 shows or movies that I actually end up enjoying.

6888 was dope

OJ trial things was good for the fact that there were details about the case and people I never knew.

Cobra Kai is actually a guilty pleasure, its cheesy but I dig the Gen X becoming a boomer themes from Danial-san and Johnny

I got around to watching what if on disney + and kinda have mixed opinions...It got kinda bad and I couldn't finish the last episode on season 3, just turned it off halfway.

That show Paradise on Hulu was good for episode 1 but fell off a cliff after episode 2 for me.

Anything on Prime?  been avoiding this because of the ads

Prime has WKUK and Downton Abbey (a show that’s one of my guilty pleasures) and they’ve recently added Heat, Anomalisa, LA Confidential, Die Hard, Evil Dead 2, Do The Right Thing, and Unforgiven.
Before you cancel Netflix you might want to check out Mindhunter by David Fincher and The Last Dance documentary series about the Chicago Bulls dynasty. I think that both are incredible.

Common Side Effects premiered on Adult Swim recently and it’s been pretty good so far. Is anyone else watching it? The tone of the show feels a bit off at times- but I kind of like that. Beavis and Butthead had similar tone at first too. At least to me. Joe Bennett is one of my favorite animators and I’m psyched that the show has his aesthetic as well as Mike Judge’s. They both tend to create these great warts and all eccentric characters that feel familiar and archetypal in a sort of mall parking lot kind of way.

I watched Mindhunter, 1st season was really good.  Saw Last Dance during pandemic too...sucked to realize how disrespected Scottie Pippen was

oh..i forgot that Invincible is back on Prime when you brought up adult animations...will check common side effects out

I’m digging Common Side Effects a lot.   It’s playing things a little more straight which I like a lot.

Anyone watching Eastern Gate on Max.   It’s like spy tv through the lens of Polish/Russua tensions vis a vis Ukraine War

They added Judge Dredd (2014) to Max and watched it with the family last night. Criminally underrated IMHO. Not as good as The Raid but pretty close. If you haven't seen The Raid, go watch it.

Netflix is trying to do some flags of our fathers stuff, getting testimonies from some of the Somali militia and civilians who were on the other side during the battle of Mogadishu in '93.

As expected, they barely even mention the incident one month prior where a US Cobra helicopter riddled a house full of respected clan leaders with missiles and cannon fire during an agreed meeting time; fully doing that Team America World Police . It's mentioned in 1 single sentence, all casual, omitting that part about 4 western journalists investigating what happened there (that day) were publicly beat to death by angry mobs (on that same day.)

its still good stuff if you like His_Story i mean history, all I remember was the news showing the starving Somali kids and its entertaining to have another piece of the puzzle.

Apparently it was pre-social media…which I guess is early 00s

I enjoy White Lotus but it is like reading the first chapters of a book.   Just a heap of set up, not typical episodic structure so I can’t really gauge whether it’s worth it or not.   Just basically want bad things to happen to Schwarzenegger’s son
Ha it def does stuff I would hate if other shows did it. Like I saw a trailer for new handmaids tale and I was critical of that show for just doing the same shit over and over and making overly obvious assholes that only exist for the audience to hate.
I guess the mystery element of the opening is enough to keep me watching at least so far.

I got way too pumped to Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite back for a third season of White Lotus

It’s nice to start the weekend with Severance and end it with White Lotus.

I'd say it's definately worth watching in full. All 3 seasons are only about 25 episodes total at around 20-25 mins each. Has some rewatch value too.
