it's most likely going to be primitive grip or blank grip. I've ordered a mystery box from primitive a few years ago and I got primitive grip (i gave it away, didn't bother trying it as I prefer Mob). I also got 3 decks with the same graphic which was disappointing, but it sounds like people are getting a variety.

I could be wrong but i think primitive uses the same grip that grizzly uses or uses the same distributor. If feels and looks very similar to grizzly grip. With the connection between prod and torey it makes sense that prod would use that resource to push out primitive grip without the grizzly logo on it. I could be 100 percent wrong but its definately very similar, if not the same. I would say its at least pretty decent griptape though from prior use

Update, I pulled the trigger. I got the 8.25 box and got a logo deck (made in China sticker) and a DBZ deck (made in Mexico sticker) the shapes are different as well. Kind of disappointed to be honest. At least they didn’t ship with die cut grip though!

I got a primitive 8.5 during Covid that wasn’t the shape that was listed on their website, different wheel base etc and was also bummed. Also it had a red top.

Then when I set it up, I ended up really liking it. And now I sort of wish I could get another. I’m hoping you have this experience too!

Same for me, one DBZ and one Frankie (and I already had one Frankie egg on deck to skate after my current set up). Sooo, I have three eggs to skate in a row now. I hope I like them lol.

Last few sheets I got from Primitive were perforated, Grizzly isn't but doesn't mean it isn't the same grit. Both grips are just fine/do the job like Jessup or Mob.

Idk if primitive has ever been clutch. Maybe back when Covid had brands jumping around.

Mixed bag, the team boards from a few months ago had Made in Mexico on the sticker

I bought two 8.125” popsicles and both are made in China, and this fast is advertised in what is possibly the smallest font which would still be legible to the naked eye.

When I got my made in china primitive it didn’t have the shape or measurements listed on their site, and I wasn’t too stoked. But then the board skated amazing.

I think they should be more transparent about their wood and they should update their shape guide to include whatever shapes they are actually offering. That way we could have more good thoughts when ordering online.

Yeah, I'm not sweating it at all. It was just said that the decks were BBS, when some are definitely not BBS.

I got a China primitive and emailed them a month ago to try and substitute it out for BBS and haven’t heard anything back. Also left a voicemail. Seems impossible to actually contact anyone at primitive because the customer support number takes you straight to voicemail. Not sure if anyone has a workaround. Worst case I’ll skate the China one but ideally I’d just send it back and get a BBS if allowed.
