I got a Theories mystery box back in like 2018 that was fucking dope. It had a Polar Hjalte board, Theories sweater (that I still wear), Theories windbreaker (that I still wear), socks, hat, a Traffic beanie, and a sticker pack for like 100 bucks shipped I think. It was easily over $100 worth of product. Those mystery boxes were fat AF. I wouldn't gamble on one now tho.

Can confirm, I got a very solid Theories Mystery Box last year as well.  I always feel like they're a good thing to suggest to my girlfriend for a Christmas gift, so it's going to be a surprise but also something I'll use.

yep.  Didn't even remove the yarn.  I'm down for supporting the small guy.  BUT when they do stuff like this, it makes it really hard. Obviously I'm done with this shop and will share with others.  I get you take a risk with mystery boxes.  The mystery is I may get some stuff I like and some stuff I don't like, but I am getting a good value and having a bit of fun with is.  This provides no value and certainly not fun.  Had I paid the full $200 not using the code I would have sent this shit right back and fought with my CC for the credit.

Seems like everything theories has is cool though so a safer bet. I would maybe do a board box if the brand has good wood and price is right but still.

It's called 'Leftover Skateboards'  It's a local dude in PA that's friends with Union's owner.  I got a discounted on from one of the last sales.  It was Anno Domini wood, which went under.

Primitive mystery deck boxes have 3 x board for 90$ or 2 for 70$.

I know I’ve heard union is generally good people which I don’t doubt but I will say I’ve done two different deck orders and we’ll over half of the boards I’ve gotten from them have been warped. I don’t care too much warped boards don’t bother me but I did think it was odd. Both times ordered five decks. First time 3/5 and second time 4/5 were warped.

I’ve gotten seriously fucked up from skating a warped board. I don’t know how shops think it’s OK to sell that shit even at discount

I’ll go ahead and say that I’ve ordered a number of times from Union, and have had nothing but straightforward dealings with them. I just bought a pair of shoes a couple of weeks ago, and got exactly what I expected in a timely manner. I never tried a mystery box from them, so have no opinion there, but anyway you cut it those pics above are pretty hard to excuse. I just figured I’d chunk my 2 cents in, for whatever it’s worth

Depends on how had the warping is. If it's slightly warped, 25% off at least seems reasonable. The board is definitely still skateable, even with some warping. I'm sorry you've had such a gnarly experience from a warped board! Definitely a learned lesson I take it?

The general population that has/will skate a deck with some warping may a) not even notice it or b) have no issues & maybe correct some of the warping during riding. Buying decks on steeep discount if there's some slight warpage due to being a season or two old in the warehouse is worth it. You can always correct warping by placing weights overnight to correct it

The graphics on the Spitfire wheels and Grizzly griptape looks like the kind of stuff you find on AliExpress, i.e fakes from China. Bones Swiss are 1/4 his listed price on AliExpress, probably cheaper in bulk. If you search for Grizzly grip on AliExpress there are numerous listings of the same graphics he's selling, all of which Grizzly hasn't stocked in years.

The Spitfire wheels sizes and graphics match up with the AliExpress listing below:
