I'm about five sessions in on the Owens and they feel super good. Really, really comfy.

Durability so far is great, and the grip is the standard Lakai vulc grip which is perfect. I really have no complaints about the shoe, Lakai did a great job with it. I did have to get a half size down, but the fit is good if you get the right size. No heel slip at all.

How are you guys liking the Owen so far? Really want to pick up a pair after I'm done skating my Howard's

I love the owens. I have a couple pairs in rotation and theyre great. Durable and have a nice fit.

I just started to wear these, had them for about 7-8 months, just stockpilled under my bed. They are perfect, a little too snug at first, but after two or three days of walking around they became the best shoes ever.

No problem man. Also, I love the insoles on those things, In the 13 years Ive been skating, Ive never had insoles in skate shoes so thick ,and yet soft and comfortable. I use them in probably three other pairs of shoes, everywhere they fit pretty much.

I have lost confidence on Lakai. My last three pairs of shoes were the Griffin. First pair wore down in normal time for me, but the second pair the suede blew out so quick and the last pair now the sole around the ball of my foot and side of the opposite foot have torn to shit super fast literally within a month's time skating 3 times a week for two hour sessions. How are the Vincent's cause I give up on the Griffin model?

The Vincents are great. I've skated about 10 pairs and haven't had any problems. Every pair I've had has been consistent with durability

Agreed.  I skated nothing but the Vincents for over a year and can say they are the best vulc shoe I've ever worn in nearly 30 years of skating.  Consistently durable, comfortable and true to size in every pair I have had.  I'm on cupsole shoes right now because they're easier on my feet after running, but still may go back to Vincents.

What I don't like is, when they have a non removable midsole.
I use FP-insoles in all of my shoes. The griffins for example feel like high heels with FP.
A friend of mine recently bought a pair of griffins and there was no midsole technology.
They had a thicker insole and were flat without it.
Did they change something with this specific model?

I am searching for the stated above: thick removable insole, otherwise flat.

Any suggestions?

the camby has a thick removable insole and is otherwise flat. I needed a half size down than all other lakai though to get a snug fit

I was thinking about the shoe as well. Thanks for the info.
From what I read in this thread, it seems to hold up pretty well.

Well, maybe I exaggerated a bit on the reengineering - It's has this special thingy on the toe, similar to the Nike SB Premium shoes have to make them last longer.

I really like the MJ's, they look great. They don't skate as well for me as the Marc. But it's also a different type of shoe than the Marc, just more of a minimalist profile.

The MJ's lace row doesn't tie as high on my foot as the Marc, if that makes any sense. And the heel lock is different. But all that said, it's still a damn nice shoe.

I'm a little over vulc shoes and sold to cupsoles so now i'm curious about the new xlk shoes they have to come this year, expecialy the "pacer" and the "griffin xlk"!
This and and the new Es with the runner toe are the shoes i wait the most this year.
