I think getting swept was the preferred outcome
[close]

By the beginning of the fourth quarter, Derrick White probably thought “I wish I didn’t hit that game winner”, that would have been the most face-saving outcome.

I’m not worried for the Nuggets though, both Celtics and Heat have played badly for about 50 per cent of the series
[close]

Yeah, they might be rusty game 1 and blow it because they’ve had so much time off, but it’ll be shocking if they don’t do the damn thing.   Anyone catch the stats on 8th seeds being in the actual Finals?
Edit:  95 Rockets, 99 Knicks only other 8th seeds

The Rockets were the 6th seed in '95, the Heat are actually the second-ever team to make the finals as an 8th seed. Plus the '99 season was shortened to 50 games due to the preceding lockout, so they're the first ever to make it after a normal regular season. Hats off to the Heat, that's an incredible feat.

I'll be shocked if they win it all though, Denver is going to be the most well-rounded team with the best individual player they've faced so far. Boston's lack of ballhandling has once again killed them, that's not gonna happen with Denver.

I blame ESPNs “by the numbers” for that error.

It’s weird how long ago the Lebron/Wade/Bosh heat feels.

Not so much tonight….

Nuggets felt like they were asleep at the wheel and played solid D all game, Jokic turned it up when it got close. Let Bam take 25 shots and score 26 who cares. Nugs in 5.

Game 1 sad & such a dud. Hopefully series shapes out to be exciting & competitive. How many games y’all think Ja gonna be suspended for? Be shocked if a year long ban announced, thinking 50 games

The Morris twins are the worst.  Markieff fully deserved this for his weak ass cheap shot.

Damn, the Heat. Seems like they’ll live and die with the three ball in the series.

Game 2 was the most fun i've had watching a game as a neutral in a while. Loved the lack of timeouts down the stretch, it was intense.

Kinda rooting for Miami now if only so the Hawks can hang a banner commemorating that they fucking waxed the 2023 champ in the play-in

Same… especially when it’s two likable teams. Can’t ask for a better finale to that ball game. I thought that final 3 pointer from Murray was going in… would’ve been nuts.

I’m loving that “Trust the Process” is becoming a rallying cry in European football.   If only they knew it’s Philly origins and how that never really came close to panning out

Good lord that game was fun, two 30 point triple doubles for the Nuggets and Jokic getting his second 30/20/10 game this postseason when it’s only been done by two other players EVER. Absolutely electric performance for the Nugs. Just need two more!!

What a brickfest but who cares

Not sure what I'm more excited about, that the Nuggets really won a championship or that Porter Jr. actually hit a 3!

Gotta love Jokic, his humility is for real. 'How do you feel?  Well, I'm glad we got the job done, now we can go home'  ;D

Congrats Nuggets, long time coming indeed

thank you Denver for exposing Jimmy Buttler as the fraud he is.

dude benefits from low-to-near no expectations during the regular season, so anything he manages to achieve in the post-season is "stupidly locked in".

never forget when Bryn Forbes outscored him when they got swept by the Bucks  ;D

HOLY FUCKIN SHIT THEY DID IT!!!! LET’S GO NUGS!!!!!

Just another day for Jokic with 28/16/4 and lead all players in the playoffs for points, rebounds and assists. Seriously the whole team was awesome tho. Maple curry scoring and playmaking all series. MPJ shot awful but made up for it with rebounds and solid D. Braun and Brown bringing the energy from the bench.

After like 3 years knowing they could be the best team in the league if healthy it’s incredible to see it come to fruition. Also Denver is poppin of rn time to go back out!

Edit to add: awesome to see Deandre Jordan get meaningful minutes and keep them in it when the refs were on their bullshit. That Butler 3 pt foul was garbage but it didn’t matter.

Nugs in 5.

Lol

Jokic vision is just crazy… he had a crucial steal in the late 3rd? Heat had back go back turnovers. That switch defense is a beauty to watch…

Heat looked gassed. Couldn’t buy a bucket. And the Nuggets are too damn deep. Congrats to the champs.

Spread gamblers everywhere would disagree. Jimmy, in the midst of a horrific game, dug down deep and scored 13 straight points to secure that sweet, sweet cover.

Thank you Jimmy, heart of a champion

Former Sonics fan (RIP Bring ‘em back!), now Suns fan since I’ve lived in AZ the past 12 years. Happy for the Nuggets, sloppy but exciting game 5 to end it last night. These Nuggets remind me a lot of the great Spurs teams. Not predicting a repeat but I can see them getting 1-2 more championships with this team.

Hoping Suns add some depth to the team for next season. I’d rather have 2 stars with a lot of good players as apposed to 3 superstars and no depth on the bench. Should be an exciting offseason! Football will start to be my focus. Skate on in the mean time dudes!

It's such an entertaining show, I'm pumped for season 2.  I already know the history and what's going to happen but I'm still 100% sold on it because it's got great character development and good writing.  And if the real life guys are bummed, then you know it's probably a little too close to the truth.  Jerry West, god love him, has always been a salty motherfucker so this characterization of him can't be too far from reality.  That's why he's pissed.
