As a Knicks fan I feel fine with a 1-1 split at home but they had a good chance to be up 2-0 but then the best skater in the NBA Dennis Schroeder hit a clutch 3 with the score tied and a little less than a minute left in game 2 today.

The Knicks have played pretty shitty for 6 quarters and still aren’t too bad off, the 21-0 run in game one to come back and win after being down 9 with 9 minutes left was historic and the run they had today to almost pull it off again when down 13 with 6 and change left in the 4th was gritty as well.

Detroit is good especially this fuck Cade Cunningham, and the next 2 games are at their place but I think NY can at least split and go back home knotted up 2-2 and have home court again if they get to the line more (Pistons took almost double the FTs the Knicks did today) and control Cunningham and make someone else beat them.

Would going home after round 1 be worth it if it meant getting Malone? I'm sort of halfway there I have to say

"This fuck", Cade Cunningham is putting the league on notice (while not flopping like Brunson).

Also, Malik Beasley's normally above average 3 point shooting was off.  Dude made more threes during the regular season than Steph Curry, and all while coming off the bench.  He was 1/8 from 3.  If he was more on like he usually is, the game wouldn't have been as close as it was.

I've been a LONG suffering Piston's fan and have watched the last 15 years in horror, but this group from the top down is different.  JB Bickerstaff is coaching his ass off and getting this younger group to buy in.

Cunningham is a monster and he seems like he can single handedly take over games , and in Knick playoff history there have been a bunch of these “this fuck” types like Michael Jordan, Reggie Miller and Tim Hardawsy in the 90s and more recently Tyrese Maxey and Tyrese Halliburton.
Absolute Knick killers.
I hope they can contain Cunningham because I know they can’t stop him.

I agree with you about Brunson, he’s an absolute flopper when it suits him and I’d rather not see it but his game is pretty solid otherwise.

I don’t know about “long suffering “ as far as the Pistons fan base is, you all have a championship in this century at least (2004) but NY hasn’t won a title in over 50 years, let that sink in.

Anyway, hoping for a good rest of the series, if it’s as exciting as the first two games I’ll be stoked.

I think it might have been two years - not sure, I just remember the MSG vs Trae beef that seemed to last a while, but the second year might have been in the season

outside of what you already mentioned:

pacers/bucks
if milwaukee doesnt make it out the first round
one can assume they will be blowing it up
watching this with a box of popcorn
giannis sweepstakes this summer?

lakers/wolves
this series has enough star power to go any way
but i think the lower seed will make it to round 2
bootleg underdogs

warriors/rockets
a steph led team is the ultimate wildcard
gs will need jimmy butler back
houstons big 3 are all 22 years old. fun to watch
this series could go the distance

I think either Denver or Clippers can give OKC a run but ultimately the Thunder will most likely prevail, but let it be said I wouldn’t be surprised if they get upset in either the semis or finals in the West.

Speaking of all that just to face ________ in the second round, whoever comes out winning the Knicks and Pistons series will have to play Boston more likely than not (don’t see Orlando pulling off the upset) and even if they manage to knock off the champs then oh fuck Cleveland is most likely waiting in the East finals.

This has been a great first round so far, lots of exciting shit and good games albeit a few blowouts here and there.

Knicks escaped, crazy game crazy ending but I will take it.
Brunson and KAT clutch time in the 4th.

However I can see how the Pistons are pissed that there was no foul on Hardaway’s last shot as time was expiring, very close and the ref was standing right there and like they have been doing the entire game, the officials were not calling a lot of contact basically allowing them to play.

Such a great game from Cunningham he had a triple double and almost willed Detroit to win but Brunson coming back strongfrom the injury and KAT finding that dog in himself was too much down the stretch, hopefully NY can close out at home because I don’t want to see another game in that building.

Denver win was crazy. This is what we watch the playoffs for (Clippers fans excluded).

Pistons got a taste of their own medicine there at the end. They called the Knicks soft, foul-baiting cry babies before the game and were allowed to play straight up football for 47 minutes... Just to bitch about a little touch on the wrist in minute 48. I've got no sympathies whatsoever.

Re: Lakers, I've got to admit it feels good to see them stumble this hard after the national media had been dickriding them for months. Turns out you do actually need more than Jaxson Hayes at the five to be competitive in the playoffs, who could've known that!?
