It's always fun to entertain that LA could make a run but the team has been hollow for years with some odd and unhelpful moves by the FO. I wish Luka and Reeves were on a contending team. Same for Bron.

If/when they lose 3rd spot to Denver, they’d meet Houston in 4 v 5 (either one in either spot) which could work out better bc they match up better against the Rockets than other teams.

West is all set, East still has five teams battling for the fifth and sixth seeds… Hawks and Magic?

East is looking more entertaining and competitive than the West at this point, can’t wait for the playoffs to start!

I don’t think anyone wants to face Atlanta in the first round, they are sizzling down the stretch and have proven that they are capable of hanging with the elites.

Philly could also be a problem in the first round if the core of Maxey, Embiid, George and Edgecombe are firing on all cylinders they just might be scary.

Not sure about Toronto or Orlando but they’ve been known to come through when they have to.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Cleveland, they could make a lot of noise if James Harden doesn’t disappear in the playoffs as he is prone to do, I don’t know if they have enough horses to back up Mitchell and Harden to make a really deep run but they are always tough.

Second round matchup between the Knicks and Celtics would be the most interesting and watchable to me, assuming they both get through, Knicks took the season series 3-1 but none of those games featured Tatum and Brown playing together.

Celtics and Pistons look scary, especially with Tatum back as well as Cade back in the mix as well.

Still standing by my prediction even though I’m biased, KNICKERBOCKERS WINNING IT ALL 2026
Let’s fucking go!!

First round, Hornets and Pistons will be entertaining. Pistons in 5. Knicks over Raptors, maybe in 6. Hawks could take Cavs in 6.
Cavs and Raptors... man. I guess Raptors in... 7. Knicks and Hawks... man. One/both these series is going to be an upset. I'll go Knicks in 6. Celtics in 5.

OKC, SAS, DEN advance and... I don't know. LA or HOU, doesn't matter. Be more efficient if both are eliminated because the winner and the loser will both be the loser.

East semis: Pistons over Hawks Raptors in 6. Celtics over Knicks, could go to 7.

West semis: OKC v (irrelevant). SAS v DEN will be epic. Going to say DEN in 6. Hoping whoever takes that then takes out OKC in West finals. OKC takes DEN in 7.

East final: Pistons v Celtics. Epic.

Finals?? Honestly no idea. OKC v Celtics. No horses in this race but I'll go with the team I dislike less. Celtics in 6.

As an aside, I'm not quite an LA fan but am a Bron fan and enjoy watching their games and want to see him do well so seeing Luka and AR in all likelihood out for the post season is crushing. I mean that's similar to the Celtics losing Tatum and Brown. Or Pistons losing Cade and Duren. Or Nugs dropping Jokic and Murray. A week before playoffs. Man.

Regardless I thought LA would be exposed in the post season even with Luka and AR with their underwhelming center and lukewarm defense. Yet they exposed a tired looking Suns team last night and have actually played well without Luka and AR.

Damn it I was hoping Toronto would be the 6 seed but the Hawks and them finished tied and I guess Toronto owns the tiebreaker so they get 5 and Atlanta gets 6.

Knicks now have to face the Hawks who are among the hottest teams in the league, they’ve been on one for the last 20-25 games, whereas the Knicks pretty much own the Raptors, they’ve beaten them like 12 times in a row and I was really hoping for them in the first round.

Atlanta is high powered offense and they make a ton of threes, the Knicks do as well but I hope it doesn’t just turn into a three point shooting contest.

@Shitbag I agree Toronto would've been much easier, but I actually think a tougher opponent might just be what this team needs to reach their potential. Last year the hard-fought series against the Pistons helped them find themselves and enabled them to convincingly beat Boston. I wouldn't mind another tough first round series if we get the same outcome in the second round.

Heat vs. Hornets, Warriors vs. Clippers, Magic vs. Sixers, and Blazers vs. Suns in the Play-in. Who y'all got?

Two great games yesterday down to the wire, I think Portland was a surprise and Deni was on a mission.
The other game I can’t believe Hornets pulled that out but Bam didn’t play the majority of the game due to that questionable ankle grab and pull by LaMelo, I mean Spo is right, that’s a bullshit play and really dangerous and whether it was intentional or not it should have been looked at and LaMelo should have been held accountable for that, should be fined at the very least, maybe even deserves to be suspended a game, will he be though?

Deni with a 40 piece and that clutch and-1... wasn't familiar with his game.

Think '6ers and Clips get it done, but wouldn't be shocked if dubs win. Keep forgetting its win or go home.

This dude is such an insufferable douche. Unquestionably a dirty play. I remember Draymond received a technical after the fact for something not unsimilar, I'd think they at least have to do that here.

Can't wait for national media to tell me how much he's matured and how he changed his game if they actually make it to the playoffs proper. Yesterday's 2/16 from 3 in a closely contested game really showed how he is a team first guy now.

I screamed at the at the TV so hard when LaMelo got the ball and basically walked right to the rim and scored the easy game winning layup.

Unchallenged uncontested basically, I hate to sound like super unc status but come on, there was a time when dudes did not just give free pass in the lane like that and if they were getting beat by their man on a drive to the basket they hammered the ever loving shit out of him and made damn sure he didn’t get an easy one like that and make them earn it from the free throw line. ESPECIALLY a game ending situation where you have no timeouts and only up by one.

I laughed at the lamelo layup. Walked in the game winner after shooting like dog shit all night. He did find other ways to help out not even counting the bam trip but jeez. 12/31 2/16 and 4 free throws is not the answer.

Clips fuckin choked against Golden State at home, up by 13 in the 4th and couldn’t close, Kawhi scored 2 points in the 4th meanwhile Porzingus and Al Horford were raining threes along with Curry who just continues to astound.

Now the Suns and Dubs play for the right to get smoked by OKC and then there’s Orlando and the Sixers battling to see who gets punked by Cade and Detroit.

Play in has been really good so far, hopefully these 2 remaining games are equally entertaining and not one sided.

Well, turns out I won't have to suffer the media shoving LaMelo down my throat. Or any of the Hornets, for that matter. After the buzz comes the hangover.

Draymond ending his Warriors career with more fouls than points and getting tossed by Scott Foster for being an asshole was fitting as hell. Good riddance.

First games went pretty chalk, the only big surprise was Orlando beating Detroit. Pretty funny to see the Magic beat them at their own game and in their own barn. If Orlando can keep matching the Pistons' physicality this could be a long series with an old-school feel.

Knicks GIANT COLLAPSE in the 4th quarter tonight, fuck dude being tied 1-1 and being up 2-0 are soooo far apart it’s insane.

They missed 10 fuckin free throws in the game  and scored 15 points in the 4th quarter , either one of those are reason enough to lose but most of all they couldn’t stop that giant cunt bag dick kicker CJ McCollum.

Need to get home court back in these 2 games in Atlanta.

Hello darkness, my old friend. @Shitbag Feels familiar, doesn't it?

Knicks fucked around and found out. Horrible second half from the whole team, but in my opinion this loss falls squarely on the shoulders of the coach and the point guard. Mike Brown threw a comfortable lead away by running out multiple lineups with no JB or KAT. Straight up coaching malpractice. Then in the 4th he just lets Brunson give in to his worst instincts, who didn't even try on defense and played hero ball on offense despite shooting horribly. That's exactly how Atlanta wants the Knicks to play. It's idiotic to oblige them when you have KAT on a mismatch and open shooters in the corners virtually every possession. But of course that's exactly what the Knicks did time and time again. As frustrating as it is familiar.

The funny thing is you already know they are going to play completely differently in game 3. Jekyll and Hyde ass team.

Totally agree, terrible coaching down the stretch, Quin Snyder made Mike Brown look like a JV high school coach but even after all that horrible shit, if Bridges makes that 12 footer at the end we aren’t talking about any of this.

Wish we could swap out that buzzer beater he made at the end of the first half with that final shot.

I was screaming time out at the TV when McCollum missed that second free throw and Hart grabbed the rebound because the TV broadcast graphic showed the Knicks with one timeout left but apparently they didn’t have one , it was an insane mistake for network television to make but millions of people were left wondering why the Knicks didn’t call a timeout when they actually didn’t have one left at all, very confusing and chaotic end to the game.

Hawks fan here.  I think a lot of us are just happy to be here this year we are ahead of schedule.  Not afraid of the Knicks at all because 1.  they are overrated 2. Atlanta is playing with house money, nothing to lose.  Either team is getting beat next round.

You are correct and your team is really good, finished the regular season hotter than just about anyone but the Spurs, that was impressive.

Also you are right to not be scared of the Knicks, they are definitely overrated and they are incredibly inconsistent.

You are also probably right that whoever wins this series will lose next round.
Knicks took out Boston last year but the C’s are looking much stronger this time and yeah I don’t like the Knicks chances there this time but who the hell knows.

That being said I hate your fucking team like I hate the Celtics, the Sixers, the Bulls, Pacers, the Heat and anyone else New York has had a tough time against in the playoffs over the years and I would wish you luck going forward because I really hope it’s going to be an exciting series the rest of the way and I definitely respect Quin Snyder as a coach but FUUUUUUUCK YOU GUYS this is war!

Seriously though that was a crazy game yesterday and I hope the rest of the series is as exciting to watch, may the best team win, blah blah blah and all that.

I think that this year is the chance for the Knicks to beat ATL, because I don't think they will next year.  Hawks are just now starting to click and we have good draft picks coming up they are going to be scarier next season.  If we get someone to help us deal with bigs then the Knicks are fucked.  We are younger faster and way better coached.

I hope we win but I don't even hate you guys really, my real true hate is reserved for the Celtics and all New England teams fuck every single one in every sport.
