If I’m still stressing about Wemby’s turnover and missed jumper/flop at the end, I know he was up with nightmares last night. No team has ever come back after 0-2 at home, but I wouldn’t count them out just yet.

As much as I want a long series, it’d be incredible for Knicks to sweep 3 teams in a row. Just hope there’s no major injuries like Hali in game 7 last year.

Good for Mike Brown, good for the Knicks. Kat's post game interview on court was right in the feels, sweat pouring out talkin bout his mom and giving credit to teammates.

As someone with no dogs in the race, the playoffs ended with OKC losing. Pack it up boys, go home, we all won. Hate watch successful. Not kidding that made my weekend. Like the end of tyranny, was a very freeing feeling.

Whoever wins this year definitely deserves it and that itself is a win. And that country music will probably have something to do with it.

Knicks won playing the “beautiful game” better than the spurs, with the ball popping around. (So, er, analytically speaking, the series is tied? )

Felt like NY had all the moments in this one.

Fox going over to beef with Brunson and Brunson just glaring him down.

Hack-a-Mitch, but Mitch drains both free throws.

Spurs stop late followed by absolutely heartbreaking offensive rebound and kickout to Bridges for wide open trey felt like the back breaker, even though it came before the final spurs flurry.

Castle also tweaked something when he did that one Hardenesque leg kick to get contact with a defender two feet away. I hope he sees this as a sign to stop that shit. Dude is so much better than that.

Totally. My main takeaway thus far is that we're winning because Wemby wants to play like a guard, or at least can be goated into it easily. All those jumpers are not the way to go if you're 7'4". It's got to be the icing on the cake, not the bread and butter. I'm sure he'll figure out out, but for now I'm just glad we caught him at 22, not 26.

I think it’s just an energy thing.   This maybe the first time that’s gone from missing the playoffs to being in the finals and it was a grinding post season to boot.  Not to mention Chet he wanted to destroy and Kat he doesn’t have any deeper emotions towards

The thing that I love, but that also drives me right up the wall, is that he has confidence in those damn pull-up threes.

I bet all his life he’s had dudes try to muscle him, and he’s been like, “ok mon ami, watch me dance on you and drain this trois.”

I can even almost see it if I squint a little. The Durant Package. Except, as KD himself pointed out, nobody else is Kevin Durant. They only made one of those.

I mean, by all means work on that shot. Work on that handle. But also, big dog—just for me—could you get a little jump hook? Maybe an 8-foot turnaround over each shoulder? Tim is right there. If you just had a dollop, a smidgen of Timmy in your game, it would make everything else so much easier.

24 free throws for the road team in the second half of a finals game. 8 for the home team. Game decided by 4 points. I'm more proud of the Knicks after this loss than I was after the first two wins.

Edit: To be clear, the Spurs won this game with a great performance. Simply terrific outings from Wemby and Castle on the biggest stage, you just have to tip your cap. The Knicks did their fair share to lose the game, too. Brunson was too sloppy with the ball and tried too hard to get his own shot going instead of letting the offense flow freely. Early (correctly called) fouls on Mikal put our rotations out of whack. Our bench sucked ass (fittingly, only the San Antonian Jordan Clarkson had a good game).

Still, it wasn't all bad. In fact, there was enough good for them to hang around until the very last minute. OG's performance will be forgotten because it was in a loss but his shotmaking was unbelievable. Josh bounced back from going 1/9 in the first two games by doubling up his shot attempts and hextupling his makes. The whole team kept on fighting despite very clearly not having their best night. They could've packed it up early in the fourth when it became very clear which way the whistles were blowing. But they kept fighting ferociously till the very last possession. That's why I'm proud. And it's also why stuff like this getting let go while they call a normal game on the other end frustrates me to no end.

Disappointing loss but if you told me before the finals started that after three games the Knicks would be up 2-1 I would have been like “cool”.
I thought they’d get a split in SA and being up 2-0 was a bonus, but having a chance to go up 3-0 and not pulling it out was huge.

Now it’s a series but I really hope the refs even it out and are more consistent, I mean did you see Wemby grab Brunson by his neck and throw him to the ground and not get called for that?

To be clear the Knicks didn’t lose because of the refs, Spurs played a great game and were clutch when they needed it.
Knicks were ass in the 4th, went 2-14 from three and also Bridges only scored 2 points after having 20 in the last game.

Also the bench (McBride, Shamet and Alvarado were a combined 3-15 from the field.
Also the a Knicks were sloppy with the basketball while the Spurs cut down on turnovers.

I really hope they get it together on Wednesday night because I do not want it to end up being a best 2 out of 3 because at that point anything can happen.

A lot to unpack here. I realize officiating during the finals is different than the regular season, but there were a lot of weird calls during this game. Wemby and Castle both clobbered Brunson and got common fouls, but Brunson got a flagrant when Champagnie landed on his foot? So many other weird calls that it makes you think Silver REALLY doesn’t want a NYK sweep.

Overall, both teams are really playing their hearts out and these games are great to watch. Like Silver, I’m also praying for a game 7 and hoping the Knicks can pull it off. Spurs are so young, if Wemby stays healthy they’ll get it next year.

So much police presence around the garden yesterday I was hoping the rest of the city would be ok

The distractions are not an issue in my opinion, this is like another super bowl thing for tons of people and game is secondary

Playing the old card to say that young knick fans needed a reality check anyway, you can't be having an "instant / I want it now" mentality with this team.  It's an "oh the pain" thing with them, and I hope people can process.

I lived a few blocks from the United Center when the 2024 DNC was there. My house was surrounded by secret service, undercover cops, helicopters, and surveillance vans for the full week. A few dudes in very poor undercover cop outfits followed me half a block while I was walking my dog to get a closer look at what was going on.

In addition to the orange child rapist, they might need to watch out for Knicks fans losing it. I've been seeing a ton of videos of people in Spurs jerseys getting attacked by mobs. When I was a teen, I wore the wrong jersey to a game and the same thing happened to me. Fuck these people.

I was at Game 2 in the Garden in 2008 Finals in my Lakers jersey.   I was surprised I went through fairly unscathed - though that might have changed if the lakers won.  Watching them come back from being 20 points down was a weird watch
