I've been to his hometown for my old job and it's a half hour to 45 minutes North or South to Milwaukee or Chicago, so I don't think he was hurting too bad for spots. That said, the median income for that town was probably like $45,000 (it was pretty much schools, a Wal Mart and some fast food restaurants) and I doubt there was much to skate within the city itself.

At the end of the day, dude deserves to be pro regardless of his background.

Ok, i may be biased because i live pretty close to where Jon Dickson grew up skating. He deserves this shit.
Moose is amazing, he can take any trick down stairs or rails. But i guess you can get that good if you just skate a lot.
Dickson skate a different way, if you've seen him in person you'll know. He skates with power, its the way he does the skating, not to mention he does regular-ly difficult stuff. I think once the video drops for the public people will understand why they turned him pro, and why he is a alot of pro's favorite skater. Also, im sure moose will go pro soon enough once the hype of Dickson calms down. I can already picture a deathwish board that just says MOOSE. Im sure its not far off.
