I dont really understand why spitfire classics feel so slow to me now
I am riding Classic 55mm, brand new, feels so so slow. has bones swiss in them that i cleaned and seems like they are spinning great not sure if there is anytihng else i am missing, maybe should try some other bearings in.
I switch to my 56mm radial Soft Slider, and i am flying. They are worn down to like 54mm now. Switch to my 58mm Radial full, 99a, its pretty much the same speed, sometimes even faster. It feels like I slide way better on these wide tread wheels, the Classic f4 99a feels so sticky...
It’s not your bearings, I just had pretty much the same thing happen.
My transition set up has 56 f4 99 og classics with new Swiss 6.
Ledge/street board had 55 f4 99 classics worn to about 54. Ancient reds from 20 years ago I found in my shop this summer (new in box).
Wife’s set up had 54 f4 97 classics with G2s.
On Friday I swapped to 54 radial 93s on the street set up. Did not have to push as hard or as often at the local for the same speed on ledges. Did a round in the big bowl, was slashing coping for the pump I would give to just get high on the wall before.
Did some revert stuff on ramps and then tail slides on a polished granite curb, the 93s slid much faster. Fast enough to do a sick tailbone slide that cut the session short.
This isn’t an apples to apples comp on the og classics or the 97a due to bearings, but I swear the 93 radials felt faster than any of the others. They make the crust of my driveway skateable too.
Thanks for letting me roll on your board 144p…..you might have just sold two more sets of the 93s
