I managed to get T Funk 97a radial fulls , which are the old formula. I think I am going to put those on my Anti Hero Horse Pill w/ Aces

then, put the 57mm Pedro wheels (new formula 97a) on my main setup (8.5" on lurpivs)

can have a really good comparison between old and new formula

On 93s and 97s, does anyone else have issues with your front toe side wheel gripping then rolling off of metal coping on crosslock 50-50ing?


Happened to me every 5050 on 58mm 97 Con Fulls on ace 66s, then again tonight on 54mm 93s on thunder 151s. It feels like the wheel is gripping so much it just rolls off into feeble. My guess is it’s a combination of the softer wheel and wider truck causing a bigger crosslock angle. I’m not sure.


This never happens to me when skating regular8.25 trucks or 99s tho, so just curious if anyone else experiences this.

It might have to do with browser settings, because others had trouble checking out with 303. It works for me but the discount doesn’t apply. I did get a 54 mm set in ‘23 from 303. They don’t put everything online so one of their shops probably sat on these for a while.

I dropped them a line, there is some back-end work going on that is causing some users to get the 'verify cart' error, so it's not just those wheels (I tried all sorts of gear jic) no ETA on it being fixed =(  Everything I picked-up recently they had and would have nabbed those spits as well.

I've gone between class 99 and radial in 93 and 97 on the same coping, no problem on my 144 indys or 149 thunders locking.
Had your same problem occasionally on 66 AF1s, with the same wheels. For me it was something odd with hanger width, I gave up on riding big boy decks.

Tablets would be missed by exactly zero skaters, I doubt Spitfire even makes them anymore and shops are just selling off old inventory.

Tablets are definitely the worst shape Spitfire has ever made.

Bet it'll come back around as a retro novelty shape at some point, though. Hold on to your gemstones.

Yeah, I tried Tablets once, then gave them away.

I have since rounded off a set or two for people who said they skated way better after being modified though, but more than anything, just trying to find a better solution for the people missing their Radial Slim wheels.

Still got a few used sets here, but I have also gotten used to rounding down a number of other wheels to whatever shape needed, so in essence I make Radial Slims from old wheels a lot more than any other shape.

Tablets are mistakes from other wheels. They simply mill down the sidewall, which is where most of the air bubbles and pour mistakes happen. I hate them, but I get it.

I like tablets. I flipped my board better with them and did no slip out of crooks on them at all. I have an idea on why they help your board flip better but it's just in my head. I think it's one of Cardiels favorite wheels. There is a few pictures of him riding them, also Heitor uses them when he's not riding big ass wheels.

They do look off though. I coukd see how people hate them.

I just received some tablets from eBay, two sets of used Lil Smokies - some worn 99a 50mm and lightly used 101a 48mm.

To be honest I'm really excited to try them, it'll be my first time on Formula 4 99a or 101a and I'm really into small wheels at the moment. Have been on OJ 45mm Little Chubbies for the past couple of months.

The seller is a skater himself and did me a good deal for them (compared to new prices, which I'm grateful for). If I like them I'll try and track down and invest in a new set next time round.

Imo classics look the best, and they're like the opposite of a classic.

I did it for Rock lobster back in 2022 - Conicals shaped down to match the last set of Radial Slims I had still new in packaging.

I have since done that to a lot of wheels as the process is very easy once you get used to it, but I would recommend trying it on some used wheels first just to get the feel for it.

The last frame of this post shows the angle I usually use to round off the outside edges of any wheels, with the wheel on a board.

I have since set up an old deck and trucks that I use exclusively for fixing wheels, mainly because the urethane goes all over the board, but also I took off the end of the destroyed hanger axle, to fit the wheel on so I can get in and reshape the inside too.  Easy enough even just sitting another bearing under it all on a normal board, but this way, I always have it here ready to go.

The grinding disc is a masonry / mixed use disc which works well for doing wheels as well as taking down kingpins, or cleaning up hangers, baseplates, etc.

This is the old board setup I use (and when I made some Lil Beatdowns, turning what was 52 mm Classics into 43 mm 90s era tiny wheels, which are really fun to skate, but not really functional in the size of them:
