Been raving about the new formula 97s (got the Delfino 55s) here before. Been riding them indoors for the winter and they are hella nice on slippery plywood and dusty concrete. Fast, not slipping out easily, breaks into slide nicely, barks good.

Just adding to my earlier posts that yeah, they do work great in smooth concrete bowls as well. Tried them at my local yesterday and they were fast and grippy. Thing of notice, though, was that they seemed surprisingly quiet. Been riding the Bones X97s a lot lately and they seem much louder and harder than the new duro Spits in my experience. Anyway, as per which ones are faster -- the Spits might have a bit of an edge. They have this weird combination of feeling kinda soft but being hella fast.

Oh yeah, referring to above regarding "the best wheels ever", currently my top 3 in no particular order is:

Spitfire new duro 97 Radials
Bones X97 v5
Bones X99 v5

so you guys have actually seen new formula 97 in other shapes in real life? i will post an image below ; this seems to suggest other shapes are available, but i have not seen hardly ANY 97s for sale lately. just the Pedros and a few random classics here and there which i am fairly sure are just old stock because its always just 1 straggler size, 1 stock left type thing.

In AU I have the Radial Full 54 mm and 56 mm in the new formula of 97 duro wheels, but that is all I have bought from the softer duros recently, haven't asked if the other shapes and sizes did actually come in with the reformulated 97s, but there was quite a lot of stock so I was thinking maybe not in Classics anyway.

There haven't been 54 mm in either Conical Full or Radial Full for a while either - they tended to sell out quite fast, when they did come in, which is when I grabbed a couple of sets of the Radial Full wheels.

I don't keep that close an eye on them anyway, as not too many people have been wanting them, apart from the Pedro Radial 55 mm shape, but I think maybe more people stay round the 54 mm wheel size, or the biggest and widest / 58 mm to 60 mm wheel size for the vert / bowl guys I skate with too.  Not a lot of in between.

yeah if for some reason i cant get the new 97s in spitfire i will just get those Bones X Formula ones. my local has TONS of those. I looked yesterday and he actually has 1 set of 97a new formula conical fulls, 54mm. so i did see them in the wild for myself even. i dont need em though hopefully someone else in town picks them up and sees how amazing they are and joins the cult.

I was dismissive of the rumors until I tried looking for the 93 Radials in black.

Now, I finally understand why people are hesitant to buy non-staple gear from DLX.

does anyone have a link to new formula 97a 54 conical full? I’d appreciate it. I have a set of x95 56 already which are very fun on the rough streets and would like to make a review on here between them and the new 97a

Been thinking about the reformulated 97s and wondering if people have seen any Classic shape wheels at all, anywhere in the world?

I have heard and seen / bought the Radial (Pedro) in 55 / 57 mm, the Radial Full in 54 / 56 mm and others have talked about the Conical Full 54 mm shapes, but I can't recall if anyone has actually said they have seen, or bought any of the Classic shape new 97s.

If anyone has, what size, be it 53, 54 or 56 mm in Classics?

Saw on eBay someone selling spitfire f1 parkburners new (probably old stock) what was the difference between park and street burners I thought it was shape but doesn’t look any different to the street burners he is selling.

Durometer. I think Street burners were 101 and Park burners were 99... could be wrong on that though...

Great feeling wheels but flatspot vulnerable and not vey durable.

Yeah Street burners and Park burners came and went.  For a wheel that flatspotted so easily it was a funny thing, almost a step backwards in the evolution of different formula wheels, but they were trying and sure enough they fixed it for what we have now in Formula Four wheels.

Oh and Park burners were listed as 98 duro.

I had a set of these Lock Ins when they first came out and they skated well for me, but I rounded off the inside of those too.  Then I had a few other variants, mainly the Hewitt Classic (full) kind of shape in 56 mm, but still have a bunch of new and used wheels from this era.

Some other people had all kinds of issues with the formulas, especially street burners - funny how that has evolved.

I was gifted a set of both Park and Street Burners from DLXSF. Was so stoked... for about a week...

When I said, they felt good I really meant it. Real nice wheels, just not up to today's standards at all.

The number of special editions that would be so good to see that never make it anywhere else...  On one hand, it is so rad, but then they are only limited so I would never see them in AU let alone anywhere like normal shops.  I wonder how many sets of those were made - anyone guess?

Just spitballing some basic economic theory here, but if the raw material in question is what’s driving the scarcity of this finished product, why would DLX invest using more of that raw material in a form that costs the same at retail as a form that uses less of the material?

Bigger wheels do cost more though, i think in 99a the bigger wheels are like 3 to 6 dollars more. 65 dollar wheels? Probably coming.
