new louisville hardcore demo, the whole scene down there continues to make me proud to be a midwest hardcore kid

I used to love that band Breather Resist from Louisville. Wish they did more.

Breather Resist were so good. I know people generally like Young Widows more and think they're better, but Charmer was pretty fucking sick.

The only thing that was a bummer was that they inspired every Tom, Dick, & Harry in a rando band start bringing full stacks to basement shows.

Haha ya you’re right about the full stack thing. I wonder how much money those Emperor dudes made selling cabs back then.

The singer of breather resist had a band called pusher or the pusher. Don’t think they made more than a demo though. I remember thinking it was badass but I haven’t heard it since.

It was always emperors.

Unrelated, been on a big Antioch Arrow kick after having not listened to them for probably 15 years. Makes me want to go fully down the Gravity Records hole.

hate5six is the best, I probably wouldn't have found this band if it weren't for that site.
Look I'm not selling anything that doesn't have my jizz on it. I don't care how much is offered.

This shit got me so fired up.

Turns out they’re all still skate, wonder if one of them is on here...

That second track has a part that’s a straight homage to psychological warfare by integrity. In a similar vein to divine apprehension by power trip when they used the raining blood riff.

En Love fucks. hate5six has been giving live to a lot of Ohio bands recently, including For Your Health (more in the scramz realm but bangs nonetheless)

Saw En Love open for Drug Church in Ohio a couple years ago, ripped out a stellar cover of Ceremony's "Kersed". Been sold on them ever since.

I have been really into this Faith record the last few weeks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk_0pz57aHQ

I always kind of glossed over them besides their split with Void. They are so great, musically kind of like rites of spring meets hardcore

Nice! Almost posted in the "controversial opinions" thread that the Faith side is better, but I really go back and forth and didn't want to say it for its own sake. It is underrated for sure, though.

I will say that in my opinion Confusion is the best song on the split. You can’t beat that main riff.

both, he drums in mind eraser and vox for xfilesx.  he also sings in magic circle (with DFJ and other boston hardcore guys) and has since been the vocalist for pagan altar.  apparently they dug magic circle so much they asked him to join the band

Wasn’t Brendans brother, Evan in Wolf Whistle for a while?

Huge fan of the entire NBHC collective of bands.

If you want haven’t listened to soul swallower yet, they come HIGHLY recommended. More classic Brendan, with vocals almost identical to his time in xfilesx, to the point where it feels like a much more serious and angrier follow up to excruciating, so it’s fucking great.

Another point for detailing this convo into a soul swallower circle jerk. Both of their ep and lp were recorded and produced by will killingsworth, who was in Orchid, ampere, and bucket full of teeth.
