these guys have been getting blasted lately.  everything they put out is great;

Love them. Check out No Hope For The Kids, or Gorilla Angreb if you aren't familiar.

Who went to Tied Down? From what I've seen that Have Heart set looked amazing. I regret not filling my taxes earlier so I could've afforded a plane ticket.

Went to Tied Down last year, bought a ticket for this year but decided not to go and sold it. I cant handle the new mega-hardcore fests that have 99% of the same bands on each one.

3rd June in a row with a local Drain show. Bigger every year. They killed it tonight. Mindforce is my favorite band right now and Terror is the goat.

while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

@streetmeat nice, just peeped your big cartel but see most stuff is sold out. I’d like to check the zine but much rather prefer physical copies. Got any of the compilation zines left?

Going to see mindforce, cmi, fury, and firewalker later this week. Not big on mindforce but I bet I will dig em live

double post, sorry bout it!

That Mindforce, Firewalker, CMI, Fury, and hold my own(who I didn’t realize was the dude from the mongoloids) show was last night. Had so much fun. Not the biggest MF fan, but seeing em live was super sick. I love when I get into a band after seeing em live. It doesn’t happen often..

Second time seeing CMI. They were better than last time. The pit is so much fun for bands like that where everyone knows lyrics. Kinda reminds me of going to see ceremony or sabertooth zombie back in the day

CMI gotta be the biggest head scratcher to me of the last 20 years as to why people like them. maybe cause on paper it should be my shit but i find it so bad. as far as ‘oi-core’ goes, No Time should be the front runner by a mile

Yeah, I can see how a lot of it is cheesy but feelin less jaded as time goes by and now just enjoy shows with a lot of energy like that. there’s a good amount of hyped bands I don’t listen to on my own time i.e. pain of truth but they’re fun to peep live

No time is cool, I’d take 86 mentality over them any day tho. Life trap is the hardest way to start an ep…

Damn haven't listened to 86 mentality in a minute... this band Freedom (not sure if they're still together tho) is kind of like 86 worship... pretty sick

Freedom rocked. not a band anymore. all the members are in a lot of bands now, most notably Never Ending Game, Twitching Tongues, Gods Hate

For the “Oi-core” you guys may dig this:

Not the style of hardcore I generally like but this is knuckle-dragging shit that reminds me of United Mutation and the like

Bane? Did I miss something?

other than the fact they are on their, what, 3rd time reuniting in a not so long period of time...I honestly can't believe there is a crowd for them made up of anyone under the age of 40 at this point.

I've never seen them, so would go. Yeah I'm old lol. Lyon has a decent hardcore scene so I'm sure they would sell out.

I’ll be going to see BANE at the Milwaukee date. Pretty pumped and I don’t mind if they keep doing tours after they break up multiple times.

I can admit that I definitely enjoyed bane growing up but listening back it does not hold up well for me as some other stuff from that time frame… a bit corny

don’t have any shows lined up that I’m thinkin of going to besides carcass and hatebreed hah. very odd tour but it fulfills both the metal and hc sides for me

possibly thinking of traveling to Tulsa for flyer over fest in November because a friend wants to go and have family out that way to visit

Bane wrote ‘Count Me Out’ and for that they will always be remembered but like i said above, its insane to me they have a crowd in 2024. Their sound is so unique to them and hasnt been ‘in’ for damn near two decades. As someone whos 38 who loved them 20+ years ago, ive had zero desire to see them the last 15 years, let alone now. I dont understand how dudes cant just let shit die. I guess the post pandemic money in HC is too much to say no to
