Been stoked on Contention for a while now and was able to see them recently. Was one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Reminds me of a bygone period of Metalcore.

Also been listening to this one a lot lately

Pretty broad lineup but makes sense with the popularity of crossover shows lately. Still have yet to see Harms Way but every other band seems to never miss. Glad Clique is getting put on and supporting some bigger acts, they've been killing it and love to see bay bands get the love the deserve.

Also gotta give a shoutout to Combust and their new album. Keeping the classic feel of NYHC alive in 2025.

was very much looking forward to the Combust LP but its not doing much for me, but its also probably because I think Never Again dropped a heavy AOTY contender and I can't stop listening to it https://tribedreamrecords.bandcamp.com/album/100-new-jersey-hardcore

I'm a Haywire superfan soley based on the way they are running their band. They are big because they are doing what Hardcore bands used to do, which is actually tour and not just ride the new current festival circuit. They have done what, damn near two FULL US tours now and by full I mean look at where they have played, they are playing every A, B and C market. Their music is catchy, full of hooks and you can understand what he's saying making it easy for kids pile on and sing along (which is another thing thats been missing for at least 10 years). They steadily cover The Rival Mob which gets all the newcomers stoked because kids now never got to see them. The vocalist actually acts like hes in a Hardcore band and doesn't just stand there. Anyone whos been around for longer than 15 years just understands that they are doing what Hardcore bands used to do in terms of 'marketing' themselves but since all it takes for 99% of Hardcore bands to make it now is have one viral video from one fest it looks like they are this weird odd ball out.

I guess this is all well and good, but I think the music sucks and is kind of corny. That really is the most important part. I love older school hardcore and hate the modern resurgence of shitty beat down and chugga chugga, but I also just don't fucking like Haywire.

I play with this band all the time. I’ve known some of them for a while.  And I say It’s pretty much impossible to get more legit than this.

anyone go to LDB? I've seen some shit over 22 years of going to Hardcore shows but that Haywire set was up there as one of the wildest things I've ever seen. They are having their Outbreak and Ceremony moment right now. They easily coulda headlined the entire thing.

Combust, Collateral, Bitter End, COA, Flat Six, What Counts, Cold World were all dope.
