I'm a casual with hardcore, but Haywire played here last night and crushed it. Had a great turnout, especially for a Sunday night.

Haywire tour made its way through last night. It was the smallest venue they have played on the tour so far. It was very wild. I've seen some shit in 25 years of attending shows and that was up there as an all-timer gig.

Fantastic album. I took a few months and learned the whole thing on my drums. Matt Wood wrote some seriously tricky shit. Now it's my skill marker, if I can still play through this album I still got it lol.

The vocalist for At the Gates/Disfear just passed away from cancer.

Slaughter of the Soul is one of the best and most influential albums ever in heavy music.

I remember when I downloaded it randomly from Unixpunx.org ftp not knowing anything about the band or album at all, and listening to it saying "this is the coolest shit ever". Something about going into it blind, not knowing who they were or that it was "supposed to be" this super big album really hammers home to me how truly great it is.
