I get a kick out of this thread just in that Post-Rock is seemingly lumped in with other genres it shares very little in common with. At least from the viewpoint of the birth of Post-Rock being Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden (a favorite of mine), and that record is nearly the antithesis of anything remotely metal.
It’s spacious, sparse, quiet in many parts.
Not saying there’s anything wrong with this thread or those other genres, but it seems in someways out of place.
