Haven't seen that in a long long time.  I believe it was an extra from the Round 3 DVD?  Anyways I used to watch that edit all the time and to this day it still blows me away how unreal the guy is on a skateboard, and he's still mindblowing today.

This.

The most technically talented skater to ever live.

And this.

It's outrageous. Daewon is nearing 40 and is still pushing technical progression further than ever. Pushing it further than guys half his age.

This is a great edit. He "re-did" his Love Child part. Then added some good stuff at the end.

He's only had himself to compete with for the past 10 years or so. Amazing.

One thing I've always loved about Daewon is how idiosyncratic his skating was -- ZERO handrails, stairs or hubbas and apparently was content to seldom travel outside the South Bay with ZERO footage from 90s LA hotspots like the Courthouse, Fairfax, Venice, Santa Monica, etc (though he did log a couple clips at Chaffey). Did he ever even go on tours? No SF, east coast, Europe footage that I can recall.

never thought about the tour aspects but now that you mentioned it........
i've been down since day one. song that is.
and i remember in an interview w/ TWS he fs flipped over an 8 stair rail. it was the one and only time i saw him do anything remotely like that.

i remember me and my friends always fantasying about what daewon wouldve done on handrails if he had chosen to skate them.

even without rails, stairs, spot variety,  daewon is still the best. i dont think its possible to say anything bad about him. hes just incredible.

Nope. He needs a handrail stair set part.

yeah this is from round 3 originally, i think it was called "daewon super part" or something like that.
i never noticed he did a fucking fakie manny fakie tre fakie manny before tho... pretty easy to let stuff get by you with all those ridiculous clips one after the other.

SO so glad that this was brought to my attention again. That fakie 360 flip to fakie mannual down the bank was absoloutely ridiculous. His control and command of his board is, as said, only comparable to Rodney. I for one thought seeing all the footage in 2nd to None in the Deca warehouse was fantastic, it was almost like Daewon's very own World Park of the 2000's.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

So many insane tricks in that. I knew he had done a lot in his time but there were so many tricks that still made me think "Oh wow, he did that so long ago". I always thought his skate more part stood out because of the spots he chose to skate in that.

For real though, watch the Deca video. Nostalgia aside, that video is just brilliant and Daewon's stuff is worthy of an Oscar.

A skate Oscar

What is so crazy is this is only a reduced version of less than half of his career and it is still more impressive than a lot of people's whole careers.  Daewon is one of those skaters where his footage is awesome and impressive when you first see it, but then when you go back and revisit it later (whether months or years), it only becomes more impressive.  Like, a lot of people are still catching up to his stuff now, so you realize in 2015 that 2001 Daewon was 10 years ahead of people, not 5.

Also, I don't know if people saw this, but Daewon posted some Instagram footage of him skating a mini-ramp. Just a crazy popped impossible fakie and some flips into darkstalls.  No big deal.
