Next board I want is a Girl/Chocolate. I always avoided their decks because of my skating style. I felt ashamed to be riding something that should be flipped around.

what's the deal with the new GO52? Looks similar to the GO27 but marginally longer.

Go27 has stubby nose and pointy tail, I think go52 is more full popsicle

The g052 is normally the malto 8.25’s, has a fatter nose if that makes sense. Decent shape

Ok

Sub 14” wb is pretty crazy tho, just try and track down one of chico’s old boards?

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

G048 shape
9.25 × 32, 13.875wb
Deep concave
Square tail

I'm on one magic carpet right now with 149 Independent

Definitely a fun setup/change. Noticeably quicker rotating doing basic fs/bs stuff on qp's today

It doesn't feel stupid wide, and the nose is nice

Ok

!!!! Stoked you tried this out, I’m about to order mine from the shop. So 159s would be ideal? I’m on ace 44s, so they probably too small. The deck width at the mounting holes is a fairly relevant measurement that is never listed. Anyways, I’m on the 8.25 girl shape that has the 14” wb and stoked, but wanted to try the couch next

Nice

Roughly
9" 1/8th front truck
9" 3/4 back truck (gets narrower quickly towards the tail)

I have been so hyped on girl/chocolate recently. I’m on my 3rd Crail board. Riding a G042 and I’m loving it.

Grabbed a G050 deck last week not realizing the tail was so small at 6.3" with the longer WB. Not sure I like the small tail.. it's noticeably harder to stay locked into tail slides without slipping out, and feels like not enough room on the tail when popping.. I'm starting to figure it out but I really want to try the G052 next. I'll try the slower pop someone mentioned above lol. Wish I would have gotten the 52 in the first place.

Anyone tried the G052? The specs look really good

If the 52 is the one that’s like 8.25 with a 14” wheelbase but a little longer than the other 8.25 yeah I’ve had a few of them and really liked the shape, if I recall the nose was a little bigger but was good

I think they put a lot of maltos graphics on that shape

How wide are the G048 couch shapes over the rear wheel bolts. What size trucks?

What a find

I thought they were PS at first glance too but I’m pretty sure that just stands for the name of the tech, “Pop Secret”

Which 8.125 has the most concave? Could also push a 8.25.

For 8.125, I'd say the GO23 has a bit more concave as the GO26.

Currently skating the G052 ( I've yet to try the 27, buddy who works the shop suggested the tail is steeper than the 52 ). The deck is super flat, feels wider for an 8.25. The nose is huge and square, the tail feels quite short and quick, with a marginal amount of space between back truck and kick. Wheelbase seems symmetrical. Really enjoying it although the tail has been causing some strain on my ankle. Only trick that I needed to adjust radically are back smiths.

Prior to this I skated the G008. Relatively flat 8.00 with a full wheelbase that's set forward, lot of space between back truck and kick which I really appreciated, made for a more mellow pop if that makes sense. Board damn near felt like a shaped deck rather than a popsicle.
Rotate your wheels regularly.

G056:
8.6" x 32.625"
Wheelbase: 14.75"
Nose: 6.925"
Tail: 6.75"
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Isnt crail all pressed in China? I have a chocolate g027 and it has pressure cracked and warped. Also seemed to dent and chip edges more than other woodshops. Maybe just me but they wood/glue/press seem like garbage. Also that shape had like 3 finger flat. Way too much for my taste.

Its PS now. I was dubious at first. But my last board was a Chocolate Anderson and I skated it for a solid two weeks. No goofy chips, quick razor tail, sogginess, or the worst - with previous crail boards I've skated - an almost hollow feeling board / pop - like when you pop your tail all the rigidity like vibrates out of the board, making a shit thud sound. Yeah none of that.

It’d be fucking sick if they used ps again. I have a ps jovontae reissue that’s rad.
I think they use a Chinese woodshop. But their process is just better. Or something. Their shapes have always been rad, to me, but I had some that were instantly warped and then yeah, that waterlogged/dead/no feedback/just gross feeling.
They are morally opposed to making truly great products. Which is a shame.
I used to love old world stuff and that would sometimes last hours, but sometimes you could really get ahold of a trick so it felt worth it. Like the board was gonna snap that day, but some random flip tricks would pop like the best you’ve ever done. I’ve said it a million times but I’d rather buy that board: the one that didn’t last but skated phenomenal. I’m old. I can’t break anything that’s not attached to me anyways.
New shit is decent tho.

Ya ps would be dope! I have the alvarez with the grain tail and I'm 99% sure it had a made in China sticker on it when I got it. 🤷‍♂️ Hasn't been updated on the woodshop thread so they may have a good amount of both of them floating around. Can anyone else confirm a change to ps?
