Here's another fun one about that 8.75 shape length and DLX typos:
The summer catalog has the Doobie listed in the text below the deck as 32.62, but on the graphic of the deck itself it's listed as 32.5.

Skatewarehouse takes their own product photos, so it looks like DLX caught the mistake at some point and updated the graphic to 32.62 before the boards went to production. Still funny that they couldn't bother to fix the catalog image though.

For sure.

I guess as the catalog is done and out many months before anything else with cad art and not actual pictures of the boards, they are a little more likely to have typos or other mistakes - curious quality control checks or whatever, but at least the board itself has the right info on it, given that is the actual size of them.

Anyone remember the ANITHERO graphic - white board with black / red graphic...  That was a good one.

Can't find any pics of it, although I thought I had saved one once before.

Wow. I’ve surprised myself & came back to a thread i posted on!

I’m pretty darn excited to get this deck. I’ll report back when in shows up.
[close]

Digging up an old post here, but did you end up liking the krooked anchor shape? Contemplating copping, though wondering how full the tail is? Any insights?

I still don’t know why it’s called an anchor shape.  But I’d say the nose & tail are full shaped.  I really like it.  No complaints.  It’s my first 9 inch board in recent years & it doesn’t feel big… but rather makes everything else I have feel small if that makes sense.

I am pretty keen to get one, although I don't know if they already sold out here in Australia or how many made it into the country.

Speaking of that board, there is a Grimple Hewitt deck in the latest catalog with that shape.

Cheers Brimmo, good to know it wasn’t a one off. I ended up buying it, hoping the tail feels nice and full. I will report back and post it up when it’s setup.

@juniormint

That new board looks great!!

Totally copying your other post to this thread, as a gripped board looks way better than the shop top pic.

Krooked 9.02 x 32.2 x 14.34
Thunder 161
Spitfire 93a radial 56mm
Reds
Pepper

Was curious about the “anchor” shape, looks nice and full, albeit a bit shorter than my preference, should be fun. Just gotta wait for the rain to stop. Wish it had wheel wells.

Holy hell, you guys. Someone gave me the 8.5/14.38 Ishod (with wheel wells) today. It may be the worst DLX shape I've ever seen in person. YIKES. It looks like a suppository, and the fact that it's a "I" stamp ain't helping (I like "IV"). Some kid at the park is definitely getting this thing for free.

Oh yeah, I could imagine.

I had tried to skate a few of those over the years, had a lot more come through my hands and passed on to others as well.

Guessing for the right person, it would be amazing, but for others it is not quite that much fun.

Did you set it up, or just look at the shape / stand on it and think that one is not for you?

I posted this in the Twin shapes thread, but also adding here, in case people have experience with one or both of these boards:

.

Has anyone skated the DLX egg 9.12 shape?

I have seen it around, as per link below, which is stated to have the same kicks, but nowhere it says is a twin shape, so I am guessing it is a normal press board, different kicks just the same length.

The Generator GFB shape also 9.1 egg is also in that category, maybe a twin or at least has the same 6.6 kicks, but it has slightly different dimensions, 14.38 wb and under 32 in length, so guessing it was slightly different from the go but is fairly similar overall though.

WIDTH (IN):   9.125

WHEELBASE (IN):   14.5

Ishod Twin Tail Easy Rider:

https://deliskatesupply.com/products/real-ishod-cathedral-holo-twin-easy-rider-8-25

They carry an 8.5 as well.
I was hoping for an easy rider 8.5 w/ a 14.5 wheelbase, and THERE it is.
And a twin tail, at that: been wanting to step to one of those since they started making them in larger sizes (8.5, 8.75).
I'd say "dreams really DO come true" but that graphic... Woof!
Little sandpaper, or a quick application of spray paint & it should be good, though.
Prolly gonna have to cop one, despite having no room left in the "ice box" to store it.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

I know people like the Cathedral series, but gawtdamt, I think I'd rather have Hook-Ups graphics on my deck. No, wait. That's going a bit too far, even for me. Plan B graphics, I'd rather have Plan B graphics. :)

For sure!!!

A nice stain showing through always does it for me now, more so than an all out graphic, especially if there is sparkle, glitter or something fancy going on, but that's ok, given I am very plain and simple in everything else too.

I really do like a clean tail more than anything, eg no graphic on the tail just works for me.

Does anyone make a shape very similar to the 8.25 easy rider? Or know why there are so few of those damn things in Europe. They are so hard to get and as far as I can tell, impossible in the UK or Switzerland.

I think Ben said the 8.25x14 Easy Rider was based off a combo of some PS boards he liked and the Primitive 8.125/8.25 I think with a slightly longer nose? So, one of those is likely a close substitute

I see the latest AH catalog is up with the new shape for Chris Cope - a mid sized 8.75 board.

Seems anything now with about 32 length and 14.3 to 14.4 wb is getting more common, eg Anchor shape, 9" wide and now this one in 8.75 but I am curious if this one has a taper to it like the other 8.75 boards, or if it is straight through the rail like the 8.62 board shape.

* I didn't even realise it had a different middle and "money bumps" down near the back truck until just now.

Just went from the 8.5 easy rider to the 8.25 and the tail on the 8.25 is wild. Long nose has been great but the long tail has been a major adjustment

New Krooked Tino Razo gest shape looks good. "8.62" x 31.512" x 14.375"

Looks a bit like the Raney Shape but  more rounded off nose,

There are so many short and stubby options from DLX and other brands. I love 14.3-14.4. It's the perfect wheelbase for people that are 6 feet (like myself) and up.

Do you prefer longer or shorter wb?

I ask because some people want longer and some want shorter, so I wasn't sure there.

I had found that 14.5 is really nice on most of my boards, but I have skated a few boards recently with shorter options, as well as having other longer wb options that I regularly ride too, but I understand between different people, different body / heights as well as different interests, eg transition maybe longer wheelbases, street tech maybe shorter wheelbases for most, but that is not to say that others find some boards too long or short for either.

Just went to the shop and didn't realize that the Krooked easy rider 8.25 had a 14.38 wheelbase while the Real easy rider 8.25 has a smaller 14 inch wheelbase. Why did they decide that different easy riders would have different wheelbases even if they have the same width?
[close]

Just wanna double check, is this accurate? Like it's not a typo or inconsistency like in other DLX measurements? I'm not a huge fan of the glitter in the Real graphics and would much rather get the Krooked Eyes one, but if it's 14.38 WB I'm not gonna bother. If so, it's kinda weird that there's two separate 8.25 easy rider shapes under DLX. If the Real one is a specific Ben shape I wish they would have made that more clear.
[close]

Re shapes and sizes, it has been said that yes the Real 8.25 is the only one that is the new dimensions, with all the others being on the Easy Rider mold but with the generic dimensions of the 8.25 (Krooked), 8.38 (Krooked and Antihero) and 8.5 (Real and Antihero) decks.

That is to say:

8.25 Real 32 long with 14 wb

8.25 Krooked 32 long with 14.38 wb

8.38 boards 32.2 long with 14.5 wb

8.5 boards 31.8 long with 14.25 wb

The III stamped decks seem to be SO inconsistent. Some are just a tad steeper than IV. Yet others seem steeper than I stamped (like the III I got today). Ugh.
