That new Manderson shaped board looks so good.
That new Manderson shaped board doesn't seem to be available here in Europe.
Not stoked on DLX making boards in China. Not stoked at all.

The horse pill is up on insta

Woah. 10" wide?! That's pretty much the length of my foot ^^ maybe it will feel awesome for cruising. Those other specs are right up my alley too. Which ones were the 10" Thunders again? 181?

i wish i could catch up on this thread but im going to be that guy...

1. did that BA shape ever come out? i think it was like 8.6 x 33 x 15in wheelbase.
2. any deluxe shapes that are similar? 9 seems too big but im really into a longer board/longer wheelbase and most are not that long even at 8.5.
3. i prefer riding deluxe which is why i am here but open to other ideas :)

Before answering these, have you ever tried the 8.62 shape?  That is maybe the longest wheelbase (14.75) in decent width and longer kicks which is a comparable step down from the orange eagle 9 x 33 with 15 wb and the shape has been around for a long time, usually fairly easy to get, also about 32.7 or longer, even though the catalog says it is shorter.

A few answers for you now:

Yes the BA board did come out on a couple of graphics, but I haven't seen it lately, maybe the last one being this (peacock graphic):

Anti Hero Ostentation Redux Anderson 8.8 Skateboard Deck
Width : 8.8"
Length : 33"
Wheelbase : 15"

The closest to this currently in the DLX range is the Jimmy Wilkins shape, approximately 8.8 x 32.5 with 15 wb.  Not sure if it was just the China made board that I got here in AU, but the overall board felt a bit short for the 15 wb, but was way more normal when drilled in a bit, but others might like it as is, or the BBS made board might be more normal feeling in where the kicks start and how long the mold was that it was pressed on, eg being pressed on a shorter mold, the bolts were almost into the kick area, compared to an orange eagle, which is on a way longer mold by comparison and has reasonable flat from bolts to the kick.

Real Prey Wilkins 8.86 Skateboard Deck
Width : 8.86"
Length : 32.61"
Wheelbase : 15"

There are a couple of other graphics out besides the PREY board I got, including the MUDGETT and the Looking Up board from a drop or so ago.

MUDGETT deck listing, purely for the pic of the board:

hanks dude @Mbrimson88 !! i actually have the 8.62 eagle ready to set up, as it was the closest i could find last fall. unfortunately dealing with some neck shit, herniated disc/disc degeneration/nerve madness, etc. real fun. but im getting close and figured i might rather start looking at the options again.

Ha yeah, that is pretty much the bigger board go to without going too big.  A lot of the vert and big bowl guys love that shape and went with that over the orange eagle when they couldn't get any more of the 9 x 33 sized boards for a time, with quite a few sticking with that shape now anyway.

I always have at least one 8.62 board set up, but I rarely skate anything bigger than waist high ramps and bowls anyway now, but I still like to do a few laps round bigger bowls on it from time to time.

Good to see it is up somewhere, as more people had been wanting shorter boards, especially around that size, but as per tradition, the 8.3 ish size has always been a little longer than the 8.25 or the 8.5 boards.

They have the three sizes, the others being the 8.25 and 8.5 which were on other graphics previously (most commonly known as Misregistered eagles), but they might become a more common board now with all three of them, the others also up on Blue Tile at the moment.

Whats up with so few 8.5 decks with 14.5WB now?
I'm currently skating the 8.38 Eagle with 14.5WB, and I lowkey like it, even with Thunders. The length is super comfy. Id love to try a 8.5 tho

I noticed the 8,5x32.18x14.38 wb is pretty scarce now too after the initial drop. It's in the most recent drop so still around. Wonder if they just didn't sell well enough.

IDK what other brands use it but the Sci-Fi 8.5x14.38 is the same shape as the DLX 8.5x14.38. My local also prints tons of Generator decks on that shape but it's on Skate Samples for some reason.

Sci-Fi 8.5’s have a 14.5 WB.

Other brands that offer this are Black Label, GX1000, Baker, and Deathwish. From what I remember, Passport also had an 8.5 with that wheelbase.

Baker doesn't do a 14.38 except for the B2 8.38 and that is definitely more square than the DLX shape. GX1000 doesn't make a shape with that WB at all. Passport doesn't use that shape their 8.5 is 14.5 they only use stock Generator shapes.

Yeah that shape seems to come and go a bit.  They used to be very common a while back, then shorter wb / length came in and there didn't seem to be any for a while, then there were half a dozen in one drop from combined brands, but I think there are about three out at the moment, or at least from what I recall, the Krooked Moonsmile in teal 8.5, then the Real Mason Gonz art and AH Grimple beach deck.

These too:

https://www.tactics.com/krooked/knox-on-the-street-85-skateboard-deck

More than I thought anyway.

I also got my hands on a Cardiel board - the 8.62 with the 14.5 wheelbase and 32.25 overall length and it is a good one, but definitely a wider board, which I would put 159s on, rather than 149s on my other 8.5 boards.

Hey! Anyone know what drop the Krooked Team Wild Style 8.25 was in? Looked on the Krooked site and I didn’t see it in the last few drops and I don’t see any archive beyond that.

Sorry I can only find a Zumiez link.

Yeah, they're out there but there was a big dump of them it seemed, then only a few now...not ridden one yet, but thinking it might be what I'm after, riding an 8.625 with the same dims and hoping it won't feel too small width wise (I know, I know, 1/8" of an inch :P

saw a Busenitz Easy Rider in 8.25, 14 3/8, 32 on the Real instagram in one of the best Real graphics I’ve seen in years. I was just about to move back up to 8.5 after this 8 3/8 Umaverse but I’m going to bite on this one. I’m stoked.

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but is the Anti Hero cream eagle actually a 14.75 wb? BBS has their 8.62 listed at 14.62, and I'm hoping that's the actual wheelbase. I know it's not a huge difference, but I went from the white eagle to the cream one as a slight size down in all dimensions...

When I measure the wheelbase of my white eagle, it looks like 14.75, which is what BBS lists as the 8.75 wb for the blanks on their site. Is it possible DLX has those dimensions backwards, or are these just custom dlx dimensions?

CONFIRMED.

The 8.62 is 14.75wb.

The 8.75 is 14.62wb.

Thanks g. It's a bit shorter overall length, maybe that'll still help make 360 flips feel easier.

.

Maybe too much information, but to add to all that:

Magenta boards are the standard Generator shapes and dimensions, of which I just got one 8.6 not too long ago, so they are a bit more stubby in overall length than DLX 8.62 boards, but the same width.

The cream eagle or any DLX 8.62 board is both longer overall and the wheelbase than the DLX 8.75 board, which is a bit more on the stubby side, so not actually as long in overall length or wheelbase than the DLX 8.62.  Not by much at all, but mm count a lot to some people in regards to skateboards.

Also the DLX 8.62 runs straight right through the rail, whereas the DLX 8.75 tapers a lot, only 8.75 at the shoulder, then is not even as wide as the 8.62 by the time it reaches the back bolts.

DLX 8.62 = great for vert or big bowls or just people who want a longer board with long wheelbase / longer kicks.

DLX 8.75 = more a good all rounder, easier to handle on everything and can be more a bigger street board too.

The older DLX size stickers have been updated, so the 8.75 now shows 32.5 length, not 32.75 or so, whereas the 8.62 is 32.6 or something, when I checked last.

So many 6s and 7s in the mix there, so I can see why it could be very confusing, but holding one of each side by side (or actually about a dozen of each) they all add up to the info I posted above.

To also add, I just got my hands on the Cardiel 8.62 board finally, which is very much the same overall dimensions as the usual BBS / Generator 8.5 boards, only a touch wider - 32.2 or so long, 14.5 wb, straight through the rail and although it might be a little harder to come by, they are out there and are such a good board for what it is.

I have 159s and usual medium width wheels on it and they don't stick out at all, so I would recommend that one for anyone wanting a little wider but not longer board, especially if they have skated any of the many other usual 8.5 shapes from all the main brands / BBS blanks.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.
