808 Vs 1010

Making this post to help you guys on comparing the 2 Tiago models. I bought both models at the same time to compare. Both 9.5

808: True to size with a veryyy snug fit. I personally prefer the 808 over the 1010. The fit is better for me (i like a snug fit) and I enjoy the not so long tongue/toe box the 1010 had while looking down. The impact protection is also better. This shoe is a tank. I challenge anyone to flex the sole (thiccc af) when they first get the shoe. It is stiff as f*ck. I personally like this due to my horrible feet/ankle condition. Great arch support. Better grip. Overall better shoe

1010: Generally half size down. I would say as a whole the fit is more comfortable than the 808. More of a looser fit. Slightly wider toe box. Does not hug the heel as well as the 808. I like the 1010 as an everyday/going out shoe than for skating. I will say board feel is significantly better than the 808 tho, thiner sole.

All in All: 808 is a better shoe for me due to its snug fit, better protection, better shape

Things to consider: I have flat wide feet with a history of ankle surgeries, I was skating the Vans Sk8 Highs (for ankle protection) for the past 2 years until I realized I needed to switch to cupsoles, thicker midsole will protect your foot better than a vulc high top.

Let me know if you have any questions!

So flat and wide feet and the 808s are still wide enough? That’s my concern, I’ve got some big wide dogs.

I had to stretch mine to fit good. You know the paper that comes inside the shoes? I laced my shoes really tight, take them off while still tied, then stuff the paper in there, like really stuff them, let them sit for a couple days and my were stretched out good.

Obviously, the bordfeel will probably never get equal to the thinner 1010s, but is there any hope as it breaks in? I really want to try the 808s, as they actually fit me foot pretty nice. Even better then 440s. But they just so stiff...

It makes too much sense…

That is all.

If I could will this into existence I would.

I wish the 533 and 1010 could have a baby. They both have that nice full round toe and I want the modern stylish tech of the 1010 mixed with the thin cupsole shape of the 533. Thinking $90?

Is tiago the first dude to have two COMPLETELY different models out at once? Not like cab with the halfcab and caballeros, or someone with a pro shoe and a chiller or a colorway on something else. But two completely different skate shoe models being sold with new colors coming out for both at the same time? I cant think of another instance.

at one point in the early 2000’s Chad Muska had 3-4 Circa pro models shoes out at once

Does spanky with the KSL and spanky g6 count? Since ksl kinda a modern take on a shoe already made?

Dang that was a quick 3 answers haha. I guess the Muska example would be the most legit.

Spanky counts for sure: KSL G6 and Spanky G6 are two unique models offered my Emerica right now

Joslin had Joslin 1 and Joslin 2 out at the same time.

Figgy had his Figueroa and Figgy Dose out at the same time

Many pros in the early 2000s had a couple models at the same time

How’s the 272s fit tts? I got kinda wide feet. If that means anything. 440s feels good at 12. Which I wear in everything. 508s I got 12 and they seem a little big. But I just did the heel lock lacing someone posted and they are fine now.

at one point in the early 2000’s Chad Muska had 3-4 Circa pro models shoes out at once

Mu$ka had at least 3 different Supra in rotation at the same time. Skytop 1 2 and 3, then 1, 2 and 4, and pretty sure 1, 2 and 5 as well. 1 and 2 never left the catalogue and it would of been 1, 2 and the 2000 but they shut shop and closed down.

After skating the 440 for a while… this is one of the best shoes. It skated like a vulc, more durable, fits great and looks great. Super light shoe as well. Feels very quick on the feet and the leather Tom Knox 440 is somehow even lighter than the suede. The weight makes is skate easy and quick.

I wished they did better color ways though, some of them look like hot garbage with the multi colored panels and such.

The 272 as well, great vulc shoe with awesome heel lock.

Way to go NB

Curious on people's opinions of the 272 vs 440. 272 felt like it had more heel padding, similar fit, could be a nice vulc with less ridiculous foxing than found on a lot of current vulcs. Front half of the shoe feels similar in terms of flex.

That's tempting...I'm still skating the first release of those now (I've been hurt). Do we know when those brown / gum 808s are coming out?...was thinking about checking those out

Gonna have to double up on both the 1010 and 808s, that colorway looks insanely good.
Goddamn fucking damn NB is trying to fuck up my bank account
