The brown 440 and that new 1010 in the 2023 catalog are sick.

I might give the 440 another shot eventually.

Am I the only one who thinks that shoe looks like crap as a low top?

I certainly prefer it as a mid. There are definitely colorways that look like they should be in the JCrew catalog.

Is the 306 more supportive or cushioned sole than the 272 sole? Been enjoying the 272 but found some 306 slips and I prefer skating slips. I know the higher number thing and I looked at the wear tested and 306 looks like the sole has more going on. Anyone got any first hand or foot experience

I tried the Tiagos on after y’all’s recommendations but had a lot of heel slip. Went with some 550s. Still wanna return to the tiagos but now I want nb to make some skate 550s. Shoe feels like it would skate well and it would be cool to see them tech em out a bit more .

I finally caved and grabbed some 808s. Half size up from 1010s is perfect. They were a little stiff but put each shoe in the microwave for 25 seconds then straight on foot, doing toe crunches and exaggerated walking around the house. They fit perfect. My feet feel like they have little spaceships on em. Crazy comfy and supportive.
Haven’t had a session in them, just skated around the neighbourhood but just ollieing a puddle yesterday felt great and I’m definitely gonna skate them eventually, but for now they’re perfect chillers for my battered ankles, can walk all day in them

Sorry if this was covered earlier, but how does the 508 fit compared to the 1010 - Is the toebox as wide?

If new balance did another run of those Black Tom Knox 440 highs, I would probably buy 10 pairs.

I can’t be the only one that feels this way.

I’ve got a crusty old pair of these which I’ve been ignoring for the past year. One of those pairs of shoes which are worn, but weren’t yet worn enough to throw out. It’s been so dirty and wet that I decided to skate them again, and I’m glad because they are great shoes. Still bummed that the 440 sole - for me - wears faster than any other shoe I regularly skate, but still these are great and I would absolutely buy another pair.

Speaking of 440, that Surrey colorway looks so damn good.

Not ideal, but the CONS insole is a perfect fit in these.

Rewatched St. Paul's the other day and the all whites Tom Knox was wearing look super nice in footage. It's a really comfy shoe, too.

I agree. I’m skating the low top version of the same color (black/orange)
