Got my Frankys last night and they look even better in person and on the feet. The insole feels great too. First pair of NB in a while, looking forward to skating them this weekend.

How is the width?

Im excited to try the Frankys. Only worried if the toebox is too narrow since it looks kinda pointy.

Need to know this, too! Now that the 212 is gone I'm fucked. Can't skate anything else at this point.

They feel good to me width-wise, and my feet are a little on the wider side, I think (can’t wear chuck Taylor’s for example).

I wouldn’t call it narrow.

Nice review! I’m surprised to see them say to size down a half size though. If I’d gone down a half size I’m not sure mine would fit.

I am keen on trying some 440s and 508s but last time I checked locals didnt carry them. Can someone help with the sizing as compared to Vans (kyle walker 1) or LRAB (vm001)?

i've actually seen quite a few non-skaters in numerics recently, most commonly the 306, some 440s.

is there a teddy santis nb with a color similar to that poets 1010? i feel like i've seen that colorway on one of the 990s he did

There was this Teddy CW last year.

Does anyone have a link for these in size 10? Asking for a friend…..

I buy everything tts no matter what and the only shoe I’ve had issues with was the 508 and then I laced it differently because heel slip and it was basically tts also. I feel it’s the one that thing I should actually listen to but I’m too concerned with m trucks sticking out  1/16 of an inch too far. Ha

Anyone else wit medium-high arches wearing Tiago 808? Wondering what your experience has been like. I’m still just wearing the around to work and such and it’s def been a different feeling shoe than I’m used to, but not sure if it’s what my arches need or if it’s like too much support. Also thinking they just still kinda breaking in like a baseball mitt or some shiet

There isn’t a skateshop within 50 miles of me. So I can’t go and compare them. But are the 808s bulkier than the 1010s? They look like it from pictures but I know it can be different IRL. Just don’t want it to feel like I’m wearing some Timberlands lol
[close]

much bulkier and a lot heavier, that shoe is really really heavy!!!
Just got them and damn, some of y’all are built different. Theses things are bricks compared to the 440s 😮‍💨

Looks nice though. And impact is good cause I can’t feel shit under my feet. Gonna wear them a few weeks before skating in them. Glad I got a size 14 cause they’re snug. 13 would’ve been torture.

My feet are flat-ish, but my left arch hurts after taking them off. They’re breaking in, though. Took a few minutes to regain my ollie cause I was too scared to commit (feet felt so heavy) 😅

But I like ‘em. Just gotta get use to them more.

Too much support (sole thickness) just isnt good, no matter how good it feels on foot. I'm too scared to skate a shoe this thick because I feel like I'm more prone to ankle rolls. That and they're heavy.

Felt like I had on ankle weights at first. Reaction time (for me) is definitely better with the 440s. I did do a little test standing on one foot, and my balance is worse on the 808s. I think it’s the height.

The 808’s definitely hurt my heels when I skate them but I’m sure it loosens up the more I break the shoe in

These are the best Tiagos thus far, IMO.

Class. You gotta hand it to Gino, releases a nice shoe on Adidas, while currently on Asics (and just visited Japan with the family for Asics), and now releases a colab on NB. So good. I like skate dad Gino.

It’s interesting that the 1010s are getting the collabs over the 808s. Does Tiago like them more? Or maybe NB is doing a retro thing.

i feel like 1010s have more crossover appeal than the more 'strictly skate' 808

True. They look like a regular New Balance shoe. Something you can chill in.

Ordered a pair of 417's. Went down half a size, or a size if u will. 43 instead of 44. They fit VERY snug. On the verge of too snug. They are vulcs tho, so will probably stretch out. Other then, the midfoot and heel area is kinda wide for me.
Dont think I will skate them, but have them as chillers

First day of skating 808s after skating Crockett highs that got too thin in the forefoot and just didn’t really like. These things skate so good. Grippy as fuck and so much more stable than the ksl. The way your foot is hugged by the interior of the shoe is amaze. My only gripe is I’m Somehow already about to break my laces on the bottom two eyelets which is so weird since they’re semi protected. I wish they just had the inner lace thing the entire way down. Oh well. Anyone found a good lace replacement for the nb’s???

My local in LA doesn’t carry NB either.   Would be interesting to see these in person, but I can’t be arsed to go to a strangers shop hah

What's your local Atiba?  Kingswell?  That I think is the only LA shop that doesn't carry us.

Hah yup.   A little surprised too since it’s good crossover brand for all the “I used to skate”s in the area that might poke around when walking the neighborhood that wear regular NBs but I don’t know how shops go about figuring out what they can/cannot/will/will not stock (but I personally might sub out Adidas as they kinda seem like they’re fading away as a brand aside from the Nora moving the needle a bit).

He was one of the original 4 on the team and I think still has only had 2 colourways. That Brighton shoe seemed like it was kinda his unofficial shoe at the start they should of done an altered version like they did with the other two shoes for arto and PJ and made it their pro model. (And same with the 4th for Levi)

If you don’t mind a quick jaunt down Franklin , pharmacy has NB and typically on sale. Brooklyn projects do too. They don’t do as well on this side of town with the young kids but I’m sure that’s changing with all the team additions

I feel bad to say it about Pharmacy, but that shop gives Zumiez vibes based off its location.  I thought they got bought out when I first saw it.

I guess I technically live closer to BP, but DJ is a pal and I’ve kept that as my local because it’s the first shop I’ve ever felt good vibes/accepted in (aside from maybe Melcher hah)
