Has anyone here skated the regular and NM# 480 models to compare the differences between the two? I'll probably still search the thread, but if not shared already, I'm interested to hear it!

I have skated both. The regular 480 is overall a wider roomier fit. More room in the toes, the top down view actually looks a little dumpy because the panel that wraps around the toe isn't high enough.

Regular 480 sole is much thinner. As shown above there's no foam midsole and not much to the insole. I didn't mind it. I skate cupsoles but a foam midsole isn't a must have for me. I like tons of classic cupsoles like Pumas, Adidas, etc.

When I finally got the Skate 480s I was actually surprised how thick the sole felt and how snug the shoe was on my feet because I was expecting the feel to be more like the regular 480 with a few minor tweaks. Doesn't even feel like the same shoe to be honest.

I like them both and would skate them both. The skate version has way more to it performance wise.

Starting to realize mine are feeling too narrow, especially after the sesh and my feet swell up, I need to change out of them right after Im done skating.

Please tell me some time soon, really dont want to skate Vans Sk8 Hi's again..... yuck

Were the v1s good for you width-wise? The v1s have been good for me and allowed my toes to splay out which I think has been very therapeutic for my feet on the whole. Wasn’t hoping to hear the v2s feel noticeably more slim, but if so I’ll probably wait for the wides.

Our wides sold out SUPER QUICK from the first batch that landed early this month.  Next batch should hit around mid-late March so check the NB site as most of the wides will go up there.  I'll double check to see how many we brought in.

I saw on the NB site there was an existing option for Wide 440 lows but not for the Highs, just to confirm, there will be Wide Highs correct?

Appreciate your help!

I love the V2. Same shoe with a bit more structure.
Also I think the new toe shape flips better 😍

Great to hear....Big fan of the fit. Does the forefoot feel like it has more cushion ?? Kinda my only complaint with the old ones. Thanks

Saw two new colorways of the 480 that look pretty good.   Did anyone see how that last colorway was going for big bucks on StockX.   It was like a yellow/green colorway

I have 3 pairs of 808s waiting to be skated so I wont need new shoes in a while but those new 440s are very tempting.

I finally got to skate in my new 440 v2s. Wearing them out to run errands today they were very comfortable and continued to be comfortable until about 30-45 minutes into my skate session. Then my feet started to hurt. The insole felt like it completely packed out and my heel felt like it was sitting on top of the edge of the outsole. The ball of my foot also got really sore. I went back to my old Half Cabs and had a much better 2nd half of the session.

Full disclosure, my feet are pretty destroyed and extra sensitive, especially my pushing foot. Most NB cup soles are to narrow for my heels through the arch. The V2 felt like a perfect fit when I tried it but sometimes you can't be sure until you get well into a skate session and the shoes get warm. A better insole might make the shoes a little better for me but I might just give them to a kid at the park. Anyone have an insole recommendation that has either no arch or a soft arch that fits well in the 440v2?

If you don't need arch support, FP Kingfoam Elites could be for you. They're pretty much "flat".

I have low-ish arches, and have been enjoying the FP Gamechanger Custom Orthotics (5mm), which provide some arch support while molding to the shape of your feet.

Love the colorways, not wild about black soles

5 day AZ skate trip in the 440v2

Love the 440's. Wish I would of had a picture of a worn pair of the OG 440s to compare. I wore through the suede on this pair before taking a chunk out of the outsole. Which usually happened on the OG 440's. Also the ollie area is affected differently. Usually it would just rip the stitching and panel off completely.
I'll stand by this. There is an obvious difference in 1010, 808, 480 compared to the 440's. No matter what change they did to the midsole or upper. Besides the unusual wear marks. I can't find any alarming differences between the OG and the v2. The toe box on the v1 was square and the v2 was made rounder. I can't tell a difference in flick. Also the midsole compound changed. I can't tell a difference in boardfeel or break in time.
I was skating 2 times a day on this trip. Just skateparks. Even a three park day in the mix. These photos represent that. Brand new from the start. Brand new board with pepper grip.
We rode 7.5's" and didn't complain.

The highlight of the trip. It was usually coffee spot, perry, lunch, another park, dinner. Or the other park first and finish on perry.

I'm headed to Perry when I go out to PHX during Phoenix AM this year, looks like it has plenty of old man friendly obstacles for someone 51 like me...can't wait.

Makes me happy I got some V1 for real cheap.

Vegan 440V2 coming in 2024, no word on 1010 yet as I don't know if the materials will work out with the structure of that shoe.
