Random thought, but I like the new red box NB# is using now 🤓

We re-designed them to be stronger than the old ones.  Just some durability issues when stacking them at stores in the stockroom.

I've been having lots of discomfort on the soles of my feet when skating the 808. I've been skating those pretty consistently now and it's the only shoe that hurts my feet. I tried different insoles with them but nothing seems to help. I really like the shoes otherwise but the fact that my feet are in pain after wearing them for 10 minutes is not very tempting. This didnt happen when they were new but I also wore them less than now.

Broke down and grabbed a pair of the 480 highs last night, the glowing reviews are making me all atwitter for them to arrive. The 480 lows have been my go-to everyday shoe, love the look and feel of 'em, so I expect great things out of the hi's.

The 808’s are bricks. Wish they’d update them with Fuel Cell. Whatever’s in the midsole is the most uncomfortable stuff ever. Shoe has no bounce to it.

Are we ever going to see 1010 sole in another shoe?
I have a feeling...

Wouldn't be suprised if we see it or something 'trimmed' down for the Boss; something between say the 480 and the 1010/808.

Must be that. I simply cant wear these, idk. Would be sick shoes with different midsole and slightly lighter. Or maybe I'll just give these a few tries and see if it works out.

Waiting for the 440 v1 trail (the brown ones) since my needs are pretty basic. Wonder how do they skate, anybody tried them?

Let me know how they fit, been eying a pair.

Hey @rocklobster , just got them. Ordered TTS and they feel super good, maybe even a little bigger than usual but I guess is normal since trail shoes have to be roomier (also I'm wearing thin socks).

^ Yep, they're good shoes with a bit of more room as compared to the skate 440s. Pretty comfy too. Wore them for snow skating last winter, but that's not optimal -- they aren't waterproof, of course.

Still, very nice shoes for some light hiking and colder weather.

They've got the 440 listed as wide, anyone know if this colorway is, in fact, the wide/2e version? @rothdigga ?
[close]
If they have it listed as a wide then they probably got a run of the 2E width ones to sell I'm guessing.

Mine should arrive today, so I will follow-up; "probably got a run of the 2E width ones to sell I'm guessing" isn't exactly reassuring as the only dark colorway 440v2 that's been listed on the NB site as a wide has been the blk/gum (this colorway isn't even up yet).

@Gray Imp Sausage Metal are those ^ the vegan 440s you got a preview of?
[close]
they are indeed!

EDIT: just arrived. They're 2E for sure (says on the box and under the tongue) as there is a WIDE tag on them - no visual indiication/marker if these are vegan or not but pretty sure they are as the 'suede' areas have a very soft 'non-suede' feel to it.

Initital fit: TTS (10.5) width is really nice; feels like a 2E - I've got a pair of [nike] runners that are 2E. Took out the stock ortholite and put in something with arch support an there is plenty of room+with no special socks to fit or fill out the shoe.

Recenlty, I switched to Xero barefoot shoes for working out and some barefoot style slip-ons for 'house shoes' all using the same insole (about two weeks straight now) - plenty of toe splay in them and these NB# feel 'fine' just walking around as compared to say, asics or any other shoe I had on hand to skate in. They all felt cramped compared to the barefoots.

Colorway is way more bad.ass in person.

It's the first truely wide feeling skate shoe (for me anyway)...feels weird since most are always too narrow. Mid-foot also plenty wide for me.

Top two eyelets on each pair were a struggle to lace, 2 weren't even peirced all the way.

New box, no extra laces =(

@rothdigga wondering if the black and olive 440 is indeed the new synth color and if the wides are synth as well? they look great so hoping they are

Correct.  That new 440v2 black with the olive N is our new Vegan offering.  We can't "officially" tag and label them as vegan but they are 100% synthetic down to the glue used and everything.  There's some wild process legally to get it labeled as vegan and there was some super minute thing where they can't guarantee that an oil used on the machines to make the shoes 100% has no animal byproduct in them that may have residue on the shoe.  But for any rational person, these are fully vegan and all of my vegan homies (Vern, Ben from Kinetic, Jamie Owens from Closer Mag) are all skating them now.
