I really like the burgundy colorway of the 417.
Do the new changes make a big differencey or is it still a tight fit?
This is my first pair of the 417’s and they do not feel tight. A bit loose if anything but that’s the case for most new balances for me and I go true to size.
This is also my first pair of 417s, not sure what people are feeling when they wear them, but they are not tight (and yeah if anything they have a bit of wiggle room for thicker socks/maybe even a thin insole on top of the AbZoRb nonsense. If you find the 417 tight you must of larger than average feet (I tend to need wide shoes).
These are also the MIDs, no idea if they changed the fit for the LOW.
I’m grateful that I have the mid top too because my 440’s were just loose enough to annoy me when I could feel my my heel rise from the sole with every push that I took. With the higher collar, they feel a bit more secure and keep that from happening in my case.
I skated a park for a while in them tonight and while they feel a bit thin and I did some jumping down some mellow stairs, my feet feel fine. They were getting a bit sore towards the end but we skated for at least 5 hours tonight.
Rock on Franky, rock on New Balance. I recommend this shoe.
(every time I look down, the stitching reminds me of the Half Cab 92’s which I’ve wanted for a very long time and never purchased for myself)
maybe this is the slightly more ergonomic Half Cab.
